Sanjay Kapoor reflects on his simple upbringing with brother, Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor, says ‘we’d sleep on mattresses in the living room’

Anil Kapoor’s family is another popular Kapoor clan from the Hindi film industry that has given stars like Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor, among others, to the industry. There is a perception that it had been a well-to-do family. But, recently, Sanjay Kapoor took a trip down memory lane and recalled his humble beginnings with brothers Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor.

Sanjay Kapoor sat down for an interview on the YouTube channel Timeout With Ankit. During the conversation, he revealed some of his childhood’s most precious, simple moments. Kapoor shared that he and his siblings, Anil and Boney Kapoor, were raised in a simple two-bedroom-hall apartment in Chembur, Mumbai. Although they have established their name in the Hindi film industry today, it wasn’t always the same. They lived a simple family life with a happy home full of love.

The Mission Mangal actor recalled that he used to share a room with his sister, Reena Kapoor, as a kid. Their grandfather moved into their home when his grandmother passed away, and Kapoor was left without a room. He said, “After my grandfather came to stay with us, he took over the room I shared with Reena. Since they were even short of space to live, he mentioned, “We’d sleep on mattresses in the living room.

At the same time, they could not afford more than one air conditioner at home. They sometimes slept inside as it was installed in his parent’s room. Despite the challenges, they found ways to make their home more comfortable.

Sanjay Kapoor also expressed gratitude towards his parents, who worked hard to raise and provide their kids as much comfort as possible. Noting their sacrifices, he said, “My parents didn’t travel abroad until they had sent the whole family overseas first,”  They always ensured that their kids got the best possible food and clothes. Furthermore, he excitedly mentioned that his friends used to look forward to having meals at his home.

Sanjay Kapoor debuted in Bollywood with the film Prem, co-starring Tabu Kapoor. Some of his notable performances are Raja, Merry Christmas, The Zoya Factor, Bloody Daddy, and more. He was last seen in Murder Mubarak, co-starring Pankaj Tripathi, Karisma Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Tisca Chopra and more.

Anees Bazmee recalls receiving Rs 15 per day as child artist; reveals being beaten up by goons for not having money: ‘I needed money to…’

Anees Bazmee recalls receiving Rs 15 per day as child artist; reveals being beaten up by goons for not having money: ‘I needed money to…’

Annes Bazmee is credited for making iconic comedy films like Welcome, Singh Is Kinng, No Entry, Hulchul, etc. Given his success in the genre, he was recently asked about his formula as a filmmaker to make such successful comedy films in Bollywood. In his response, he mentioned that early struggles in life made way for them.

Elaborating it further in an interview with Mashable India, Annes Bazmee admitted facing many problems in life provided him with a better awareness and deep understanding of life’s realities. Consequently, he used those angles in his comedy films, making them successful.

Shedding some light on his Youth, he recalled that they used to live in a small room. He said, “We were seven to eight people living in a decent room. This is why we are so close-knit as a family because we didn’t have the space back then. There used to be no space to even turn while sleeping.”

Despite the challenges of less space, they focused on the brighter part as they developed family bonds and supported each other in difficult situations in life.

The filmmaker, who began his career as a junior artist, began to work from a young age to provide financial support to his family. Recalling his journey in those times, he said, “When I started working, I had to take up small gigs. I was a junior artist before I played a role with Shatrughan Sinha as a child actor. At that time, I needed money to run my house. My per day used to be Rs 15 at that time.”

However, for some reason, Rs. 2 was deducted from his pay, and he was only left with Rs. 13. Still, the number has become his lucky number now. Gradually, he got less work and did other tasks like sound recording to make ends meet.

Amid the daily struggles, Bazmee found himself a big problem when he was looted at gunpoint in Mumbai at midnight. But those thieves didn’t find anything valuable with him. They beat him since he had no money, and he couldn’t right back because he didn’t think it would be safe. However, these challenges have helped him work better and entertain audiences with his films.

The air quality index (AQI) at 6 am was recorded at 432, falling under the “severe” category”, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). At 7 in the morning, visibility at Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur airport dropped to zero.

A sharp spike in Delhi’s air pollution was witnessed in the past 24 hours with 30 out of 36 monitoring stations reporting severe air quality index.

Chandigarh, 250 km away from Delhi also reported a severe air quality index of 415

Smog chokes nearby Ghaziabad (AQI of 378), Noida (372), and Gurugram (323) with air quality plummeting to the “very poor” category.

Long-term exposure to “very poor” air quality can lead to respiratory. Whereas, severe AQI can affect even healthy people and seriously impact those with existing diseases.

Owing to stronger winds, the pollutant concentration and thereby the AQI, is expected to start showing a declining trend from today onwards and the AQI is likely to move back to the “very poor” category, noted a report filed by the India Meteorological Department and IITM.

On Wednesday, the AQI turned “severe” for the first time this season. The Commission for Air Quality Management described “unprecedented extremely dense fog” as an “episodic event”.

It was decided to keep a close watch on the situation, before invoking the stringent measures under Stage-III of GRAP.
