An actor has filed an FIR against director Arindam Sil, alleging that he kissed her without consent during a film shoot. The complaint includes charges under sections 354 and 509 of IPC for outraging modesty and insulting a woman. Sil denies the accusations, claiming he has evidence to prove his innocence.

Inder Singh Parmar, MP’s higher education minister, claims Indian sailor Vasulun discovered America, not Columbus, and Vasco da Gama followed a Gujarati merchant to India. Parmar argues that Indian students are taught incorrect history and plans to remove references to Columbus and Vasco da Gama from educational materials.

The federal agency alleged in a statement that it has “found” documents related to about half-a-dozen houses, flats and a farmhouse owned by the doctor couple during searches conducted against them and their “close relatives” on September 6 at seven locations in Kolkata.
