Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has said the state police will take what has been dubbed the “honeymoon murder” to its logical conclusion.

Meghalaya is a safe place for tourists, underscored Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong even as he said he was “shocked” that a man was murdered during his honeymoon in the state allegedly by killers hired by his wife.

Since Raja Raghuvanshi’s death took place in Shillong, Meghalaya Police has the legal authority to investigate, arrest, and prosecute, no matter where the accused is located
