External affairs minister Jaishankar expressed hope for ‘unanimous support’ after briefing an all-party meeting about the escalating situation in Bangladesh, caused by street protests over job quotas that led to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation and flight to India. The meeting included key leaders from various political parties and senior government officials.

Three uniformed personnel, Jithil Jayan of NDRF, his brother Army JCO Jinosh Jayan, and cousin Havildar Praveen Prakash, faced personal loss while assisting in landslide recovery efforts in Wayanad’s Chooralmala. The disaster claimed their cousin Jagadeesh, his wife Saritha, and their son Sharan. Only Saritha’s body remains missing. The team continues their search for survivors.
