EXCLUSIVE: Hrithik Roshan to shoot for Alpha with Alia Bhatt & Sharvari from November 9 in Mumbai

Over the years, the Aditya Chopra curated YRF Spy Universe has established itself as the most celebrated cinematic universe of Indian Cinema with the biggest of the heroes – from Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif to Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt – coming on board to play secret agents in the franchise. After back-to-back hits from 2012 to 2024 in the form of Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan and Tiger 3, YRF is all set to offer the next two chapters of the universe with War 2 and Alpha. While War 2 marks the return of Hrithik Roshan as the suave agent, Kabir, with NTR Jr. joining in for the parallel lead, Alpha will result in a beginning of the first female lead action franchise with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.

War 2 is on the verge of completion, as Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. are all set to shoot for the climax action block of this actioner from the second half of November. But before that, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Hrithik Roshan as Agent Kabir is all set to make a smashing appearance in Alpha and the shoot will take place from November 9 in Mumbai. “Hrithik Roshan as Agent Kabir is ready for a crossover in Alpha. The actor is excited as this would mark the first-ever crossover of his character in the YRF Spy Universe. He plays the part of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s mentor as a long-term plan of the universe,” revealed a source close to the development.

The source further added that Hrithik will be shooting for a big action sequence in Alpha with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari also joining in. “Aditya Chopra and director Shiv Rawail have designed an extended cameo that does justice to the aura of Hrithik Roshan and the legacy of Agent Kabir. It’s a well-written sequence, that comes in an apt situation through the narrative of Alpha. Hrithik will get a proper high octane introduction in the tale, and the cameo will lead itself to a massive action block featuring the trio of Hrithik, Alia and Sharvari,” the source added.

According to the source, Hrithik’s cameo as Agent Kabir will be the highlight of Alpha, and the entire team at YRF is charged up to see the magic unfold on the big screen. “Hrithik as Kabir is one of the most special characters for everyone at YRF, as it’s only after War that the idea of Universe came into the ideation stage. The intent is to create an extended cameo that is discussed for years, and being the perfectionist that he is, Hrithik will be training and rehearsing for his part from November 6 in Mumbai. It’s 3-days of prep, followed by 8 days of shoot,” the source concluded.

Talking of War 2, the Ayan Mukerji directorial arrives on Independence Day, 2025. Alpha on the other hand hits the big screen during the Christmas period next year. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Akshay Kumar donates Rs 1 crore to provide daily feasts for Lord Ram’s monkeys in Ayodhya

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is back in the spotlight, but this time for a heartwarming reason! He’s now dedicating his efforts to a unique initiative this Diwali. Joining forces with a trust, Akshay aims to feed monkeys in Ayodhya every day, celebrating the legacy of Hanuman’s brave army. With a generous pledge of Rs 1 crore, he’s ensuring that the festive spirit touches not just humans but also our furry friends.

According to Times Now, Akshay Kumar is set to seek Lord Ram’s blessings by feeding the revered monkeys that played a crucial role in the battle against Ravana. This noble initiative is spearheaded by the Anjaneya Sewa Trust, under the guidance of Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj.

When approached by the trust, the Khel Khel Mein actor responded with warmth and generosity, enthusiastically agreeing to contribute. He not only committed to the cause but also made a significant donation to ensure these sacred animals are fed daily.

Priya Gupta, founder trustee of the Anjaneya Sewa Trust, praised Akshay Kumar’s generosity, highlighting his kindness not just towards his family and colleagues but also to the community. She noted that he donated immediately and significantly, dedicating the initiative to his parents, Hari Om and Aruna Bhatia, as well as his father-in-law, Rajesh Khanna.

Gupta emphasized that the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan star is not only a substantial donor but also a socially aware citizen who cares about Ayodhya’s residents. She assured that their efforts to feed the monkeys would be conducted responsibly, ensuring no inconvenience or littering occurs in the city.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar is currently putting the finishing touches on the comedy Housefull 5, which features an extensive ensemble cast. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, this much-anticipated film is set to hit theaters on June 6, 2025.

In addition to Housefull 5, Akshay has an exciting lineup of projects, including Welcome To The Jungle, Sky Force, Hera Pheri 3, Bhoot Bangla, and Jolly LLB 3. After Chennai, Delhi Cops’ ‘Breaking Bad’ Moment, Massive Meth Lab Busted

After Chennai, Delhi Cops’ ‘Breaking Bad’ Moment, Massive Meth Lab Busted

Less than a week after a meth lab was busted in Chennai – cue references to iconic TV show ‘Breaking Bad’ – similar scenes played out in the national capital region. Cops raided a production centre in the Kasana industrial area of Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar, and recovered 95 kg of the drug in solid and liquid forms, as well as chemicals like acetone and red phosphorous.

The narcotics were being manufactured for sale in India and abroad, the cops said; members of a Mexican drug cartel called Jalisco New Generation, or CJNG, were involved in this operation. The CJNG began life as an offshoot of the Milenio Cartel, which is one of Mexico’s most feared; CJNG members, Mexico News Daily claimed in 2017, cannibalise new recruits who fail their training.

The joint drug op had a presence across Delhi and the national capital region.

How Delhi-Mexico Drug Cartel Was Formed

Preliminary inquiries indicate a Delhi-based businessman and, worryingly, a warden from the city’s Tihar Jail, were also part of this operation; the businessman, who has not been named yet, had been arrested by Revenue Department officials in an earlier drugs-related case.

The two met when the businessman was incarcerated in Tihar Jail, and hatched this plot. They roped in a Mumbai-based chemist for manufacturing and ‘quality control’ was outsourced to the Mexicans; a cartel member was sent to Delhi.

The businessman and the jail warden have been arrested, but it is unclear if that cartel member has also been taken into custody. A fourth, also unidentified as yet, person was also detained. All four are in police custody at this time.

A fifth arrest – an associate of the businessman – was arrested from Delhi’s Rajouri Garden.

Details of the operation, including finances and assets, are being worked out.

India’s Meth, Synthetic Drugs Crisis

This is the sixth bust by the Narcotics Control Bureau this year alone.

The other five were in Gandhinagar and Amreli in Gujarat, Jodhpur and Sirohi in Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal. The Bhopal operation yielded over 900 kg of mephedrone in solid and liquid forms, as well a frightening 7,000 kg of various chemicals and drug-making machinery.

The Chennai drugs operation – run by a chemistry student who began by peddling meth – was a ‘start-up’; 245 grams was recovered, but cops there believe it could be linked to a larger network.

Another operation was busted in Assam last week; a joint op between Assamese and Manipuri police seized heroin valued at Rs 6 crore and arrested two people.

And, in a separate crackdown, Gujarat Police seized Rs 250 crore in drugs from Bharuch district, and arrested a local businessman, earlier raids on whose company yielded drugs worth Rs 5,000 crore.

The number of drug busts, particularly labs producing synthetic drugs like methamphetamine and mephedrone, highlights drug mafias’ shift to smaller labs being set up in industrial areas to evade cops. Smaller operations allow them to reduce, for example, waste materials and toxic fumes.
