‘Spoke about the character, not the person’: Arshad Warsi finally breaks silence on his controversial ‘joker’ comment about Prabhas

Arshad Warsi has finally responded to the backlash he received over his controversial “joker” comment on Prabhas. For the unversed, he said that the Kalki 2898 AD actor was like a joker in the film. However, during a recent event, he opened up about his views and called Prabhas a ‘brilliant’ star.

Arshad Warsi said, “Everybody has their own point of view and people like to interpret noise. I spoke about the character, not the person. He (Prabhas) is a brilliant actor and he has proved himself again and again, and we know about it. And, when we give a bad character to a good actor, it’s heartbreaking for the audience.”

The entire controversy started when Arshad said during an interview with Samdish Bhatia that he did not like Kalki 2898 AD. He further added that he was disappointed with Prabhas’ character in the movie.

Arshad Warsi said, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata (What have you made of it? Why do they do such things I never understand).”

Following his remarks, Arshad received backlash from netizens and several people from the film fraternity. Director Nag Ashwin also responded to his controversial comment and took to his X handle to pen a note.

He wrote, “Let’s not go backwards..no more north-south or bolly vs tolly..eyes on the bigger picture.. United Indian Film Industry..Arshad saab should have chosen his words better..but it’s ok..sending buji toys 4 his kids..il work hard so tweets fdfs that prabhas was the best ever in k2.”

Ajith Kumar makes his racing comeback, launches a brand-new team to hit the circuit; Find out who the official driver is

Ajith Kumar’s passion is not just limited to Indian cinema. While the actor is working on his upcoming projects, he is also gearing up to make his racing comeback after a long break. Yes, you read it right. Moreover, Ajith Kumar has also announced his new team called Ajith Kumar Racing.

The Vidaamuyarchi actor’s manager has confirmed the news. He took to his social media handle to share pictures of Ajith Kumar adhering to safety protocols and testing the Ferrari 488 EVO Challenge at the Dubai Autodrome.

He wrote, “We are proud to announce the beginning of a new exciting adventure: Ajith Kumar Racing. Fabian Duffieuxwill be the official racing driver.”

Ajith Kumar’s manager further added, “Ajith is among very few Indians to race in the International arena and FIA championships. He competed in the 2004 Formula Asia BMW F3 Championships and he raced in the 2010 Formula 2 Championship!!”

He also shared that Ajith Kumar will be engaged in various international racing series starting with the “competitive @24hseries European series in the @porsche 992 GT3 cup category.”

Earlier, several videos of Ajith Kumar surfaced on social media where he was seen taking a test drive on a racing track in Dubai. The videos garnered attention from his fans and went viral.

Many of you must not be aware that Ajith Kumar has a passion for racing. He became a racer in 2003 after competing in the Formula Maruti Indian Championships in 2002.

Following that, he participated in the Formula BMW Asia Championship. Ajith Kumar also competed in several other races including the FIA Formula Two Championship. The actor is also amongst a few Indians who took part in FIA championships and the International arena.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ajith Kumar is gearing up for the release of Vidaamuyarchi. Following this, he will feature in the film Good Bad Ugly. The movie is aiming for a Pongal release alongside Vishwambhara.

Gurugram Cops File Case Against WhatsApp Directors For Not Providing Info

Gurugram police have registered an FIR against WhatsApp’s directors and nodal officers after the messaging app refused to provide information about three accounts linked to an investigation. The case invokes sections relating to disobeying an order issued by a public servant, concealing an offender to screen him from legal punishment and destruction of any document or electronic record that may have to be produced as evidence.

The FIR was filed on a complaint by an Inspector in the cyber police station. The complaint cited a May 27 FIR under cheating and criminal conspiracy charges. As part of its investigation, Gurugram police asked WhatsApp for information on four numbers used by the accused. A notice was sent to WhatsApp on July 17 via email. “On 19.07.2024, WhatsApp, in a deliberate act of non-compliance, raised objections, seeking clarification regarding the specific nature of the criminal activities allegedly perpetrated using these identified numbers.”

On July 25, the police sent a detailed response, reiterating the demand for disclosure of the requisite information for the specified mobile numbers, “thus underscoring the necessity for the cooperation of WhatsApp in this investigation”.

“WhatsApp presented further objections. A comprehensive response, emphasizing the exigency implicated in the investigation, was furnished on 23.08.2024. It was explicitly stated that the matter warranted immediate action due to the grave concerns surrounding investigation. However, despite due diligence and lawful requests, WhatsApp, on 28.08.2024, rejected the legitimate requisition. This refusal constitutes an overt act of disregard for statutory obligations,” the police complaint says.

“The refusal of WhatsApp to comply with the lawfully promulgated orders by public authorities and their denial in furnishing the requested information, despite being legally mandated to do so under the prevailing laws of the land, constitutes a willful and contumacious disobedience of legal directives,” it adds. “By not rendering the information as solicited, WhatsApp appears to have knowingly abetted the accused individuals, thereby engaging in deliberate suppression and obstruction of critical electronic evidence. This conduct amounts to a violation of statutory provisions designed to preserve and facilitate the administration of justice,” the complaint says.

Accordingly, police have filed a case under Bharatiya Nyah Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. The FIR names one Krishna Choudhary and others.

According to the messaging app, which has nearly 3 billion unique users globally, it discloses account records solely in accordance with our terms of service and applicable law. “Additionally, we will assess whether requests are consistent with internationally recognized standards. These include human rights, due process, and the rule of law,” it says in its website.
