On Thursday morning, five Kanwar Yatra pilgrims were electrocuted in Jharkhand’s Latehar district after their vehicle hit an electricity pole and came into contact with a high-tension overhead wire. The incident occurred around 3 am in the Balumath police station area. Three others were injured and admitted to a hospital, authorities confirmed.

A panchayat in Shahganj area of Agra district resolved a 20-year-old rape case by ordering the accused to be hit five times with shoes by the survivor in public and imposed a fine of Rs 15,000. The police, although informed, took no action due to claims of family honor. The incident, recorded on video, circulated widely on social media.
