Ranveer Singh to File Revised Apology Affidavit in Karnataka High Court Over Kantara Imitation Row

Ranveer Singh might be basking in the success of Dhurandhar, but he is also embroiled in a legal case. A case was filed against the actor after he mimicked Kantara star Rishab Shetty at the National Film Awards last year. Now, the actor has told the Karnataka High Court that he is willing to file a revised affidavit of apology for mimicking Chamundi Devi’s depiction in the film.
Ranveer also expressed remorse and stated that he was unaware that he was hurting sentiments when he mimicked Rishab’s performance.
This came up during the hearing of the actor’s plea seeking to quash the FIR filed against him after he mimicked a character played by Rishabh Shetty in Kantara Chapter 1. He also spoke about Daiva (a deity) in a manner that was found objectionable by the complainant.

Senior Advocate Sajan Poovayya read Singh’s apology affidavit in court and said, “I have filed an affidavit of apology. And I have undertaken in that affidavit that I will visit the temple as well. (The affidavit states) on the date of the incident, even for a moment, I did not realise I offended the worshippers of the Daiva. I also want to clarify, I was raised in a Sindhi household in Mumbai and I was not aware of the sensitivities. I, through this affidavit, once again convey my deepest regret, and unconditional apology. I will be visiting the temple of the deity in due course to offer my prayers and express my devotion.”

However, the complainant, Prashanth Methal, argued that the affidavit did not convey genuine remorse, adding that Rishab had, in fact, signalled Ranveer Singh not to perform the imitation on stage. Following this, the court directed Singh to file a revised affidavit. Moreover, Poovayya agreed to meet Methal to refine the wording of the apology affidavit and submit a revised version before the court. The case has now been adjourned till April 23.

In his apology, Ranveer also stated that he would visit a temple in Mysore to express his devotion.

Aditya Dhar Reveals Dhurandhars Costume Designer Smriti Chauhan Stitched 10000 Costumes in 30 Days

When a film becomes a blockbuster, it is mostly the actors and the directors who get to be in the spotlight. But with Dhurandhar, Aditya Dhar has made sure that he shines the light on everyone present behind the camera, and was responsible for making the film a blockbuster.
The filmmaker wrote a detailed note appreciating Smriti Chauhan, the costume director of the film and revealed that she stitched 10000 costumes in thirty days!

He began the note by writing, “I still remember one of our very first conversations, when we spoke about how Jaskirat starts with a hint of colour and how, by the end, Hamza is almost swallowed by black. How, somewhere along the way, the colour quietly leaves his life without drawing attention to it. At that point, it was just a thought, a tiny, slightly mad detailing idea I threw at you. And you just held on to it. That’s when I knew Because while you kept saying “Adi Sir, I don’t know if I’m the right person for this,” I was sitting there thinking, “This is exactly why you are.”

He continued, “You didn’t come with baggage. You didn’t come with a fixed ‘style’ of what this world should look like. You came with honesty and that dangerous thing called ZIDD. And then you went and did what you do best, you over-delivered in the most ridiculous, unbelievable way. Who stitches 10000 costumes for a film and close to 1000 Pathanis in first 30 days and still worries about the detailing of a buttons on a junior artist’s cuff? Who creates 250+ looks for Hamza and still loses sleep over whether the ring on his little finger feels emotionally correct? Who manages thousands of accessories over a 1.5 year shoot and still shows up every day like it’s day one?
Only you. The most helpful, most generous human being on set. Always there. Always giving. Always smiling through the chaos (even when I know some days you wanted to kill most of us).”

Dhar also lauded Chauhan for creating a space that once felt unfamiliar but now she has created something so distinct that people are following her design styles everywhere.
The filmmaker also shared several BTS photos featuring Smriti along with the cast and crew.

Watch: Anne Hathaway Tears Up at The Devil Wears Prada 2 Event in Shanghai

An overwhelmed Anne Hathaway couldn’t hide her tears at The Devil Wears Prada 2 event in Shanghai. The actress, along with Meryl Streep, attended a grand fan event in Shanghai on Friday, April 10. Hathaway was seen walking up a red carpet set up, which looked inspired by the annual MET Gala. In a video shared online, the actress donned a gorgeous gown and greeted fans. As she walked up the stairs, she looked emotional and even teary-eyed.
She admitted she was moved by the love she received at the fan event and couldn’t hold back her emotions. “I am overwhelmed. I wasn’t expecting to feel emotional but there are so many of you. Thank you for all of this,” she said.
Watch the video below:

The Devil Wears Prada 2 reunites the original cast — Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tuccu, with director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna. The film also introduces a new lineup of characters played by Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B. J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also reprise their roles as Lily and Irv from the original film.
The final trailer of the film, which was released earlier this week, opens with Andy telling Simone that she once held the very job Simone has now. Andy reflects on her journey, from going to Paris and working under Miranda to eventually walking away to pursue a career in journalism. Simone, now Miranda’s new assistant (read: the new Emily), is visibly stunned to learn that Andy gave up Chanel!
The trailer then cuts to a series of montages, before Miranda, played by Meryl Streep, tells Andy that she needs her help navigating a current scandal. Miranda remains the same icy, stiletto-clicking force, unwavering in her pursuit of control. We also catch glimpses of Miranda’s former assistant Emily Charlton, who delivers a striking line: “May the bridges I burn light my way.” Once loyal to Miranda, she has now turned into her rival.
Based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel, The Devil Wears Prada was a box-office hit and earned two Oscar nominations. The Devil Wears Prada 2 arrives in theatres on May 1.
