AR Rahman Breaks Silence On Ramayana Music

When you are crafting the sonic landscape for one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious mythological projects, pleasing everyone right out of the gate is practically impossible. As tracks like Ravana Tandav and Mangal Rang sparked passionate debates across the internet, Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman found himself right in the thick of online scrutiny. Yet, the legendary musician remains entirely unbothered by the initial social media noise, knowing all too well how quickly public sentiment tends to shift.

Speaking candidly about the early trolling and mixed listener reactions, Rahman revealed that the intense creative process leaves little room to obsess over online feedback loops. “We do so much work, filtration, ideation, and iteration that there’s no energy left to look at feedback! We just put it out because it’s been tried and tested so much. My son keeps telling me, ‘This is what they said yesterday, now they’re apologising…’ I say fine, I’ve done my work sincerely and hope people celebrate it,” he shared.

Reflecting on his incredible three-decade journey in the industry, the composer admitted that audiences often romanticise his early work, expecting him to constantly recreate past milestones. However, stagnation is never part of his artistic philosophy. Stepping into Nitesh Tiwari’s epic world starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi brought a fresh sense of cultural honour, especially with songs rendered across five different languages.

Fans are also thrilled about Rahman breaking his famous solo rule to team up with German composer Hans Zimmer for this cinematic spectacle. Calling the collaboration a wonderful blessing that will capture global curiosity, the maestro continues to let his music speak for itself. As the first part of the grand saga prepares to hit the big screen this November, the legendary artist is simply focused on sharing his devotion through sound, leaving the temporary chatter far behind.

Aditi Rao Hydari To Pay Tribute To Bollywood Legend Helen In Parivarik ManjuRanjan

When you hear the name Helen, your mind instantly wanders to dazzling sequined outfits, hypnotic cabaret numbers, and an unmatched screen presence that defined generations of Hindi cinema. Now, that iconic legacy is getting a playful, modern-day hat-tip on screen. In Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming family comedy Parivarik ManuRanjan, Aditi Rao Hydari takes on a character named Helen, bringing a wonderful touch of old-school cinematic nostalgia into a quirky contemporary narrative.

Directed by Varun V Sharma, the film pairs Aditi with the inimitable Pankaj Tripathi for a fresh, unexpected cinematic pairing. The plot follows Ranjan Dubey, played by Tripathi, who hires a cheerful housekeeper and property manager named Helen. What starts as a simple professional arrangement turns delightfully messy when she discovers he is a bachelor living alone. Despite his unmarried status and their distinct dynamic, she decides to stay, leading to a sweet and chaotic romance.

While the film offers plenty of laughs, the character’s moniker is a charming homage to the legendary veteran whose electrifying performances made her a true cultural phenomenon. Back in the heyday of the 1970s and 1980s, her unmatched style inspired countless parents across India to name their daughters after her. Decades later, that name still carries the weight of a golden era when a single dance number could completely steal the show.

Aditi, who has recently been turning heads with acclaimed performances in projects like Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and Jubilee, looks entirely at home stepping into this lighter, breezy space. Working alongside Tripathi, whom she has praised as a true master of his craft, adds an exciting layer to this wholesome rom-com. Backed by a creative powerhouse team including Ali Abbas Zafar, the project promises plenty of warmth, wit, and filmi heart when it arrives on SonyLIV.
