Ayushmann Khurrana’s recent musical tribute in the form of the cover Nindiya (Reprise) from the acclaimed series The Railway Men pays homage to the unwavering human resilience witnessed during the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy. The series itself, delving into the heroic efforts of railway workers amid the disaster, has garnered widespread acclaim since its debut on November 18.
Against the backdrop of this catastrophic event, Nindiya (Reprise) serves as a tribute to the unyielding human spirit and the unwavering determination to surmount adversity.
Ayushmann Khurrana, deeply moved by the series’ poignant narrative, felt compelled to lend his voice to the rendition of Nindiya (Reprise), adding profound emotional depth to an already powerful melody.
Reflecting on his experience, Ayushmann expressed, “When I was watching the series, apart from the fact that it was brilliantly made, what stayed with me is how it instilled hope in me. While we all are aware of the tragedy and its aftermath, the indomitable human spirit moved me. Nindiya Re, in the series, encapsulated the emotions through two young children at the railway platform. This is my heartfelt tribute to the bravery, courage and ability of people to face the darkest of hours and rebuild themselves from scratch. This show and this track ‘Nindiya’ hold a special place in my heart.”
