Opposition parties, including Congress and Trinamool Congress, criticized the BJP-led government following the Howrah-Mumbai Mail derailment in Jharkhand, which resulted in two deaths and 20 injuries. He claimed his vehicle’s speed was manageable. The Delhi court sent him and four others to judicial custody till August 12, pending their bail plea hearing.
