Trinamool Congress lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against BJP’s Tamluk candidate Abhijit Gangopadhyay for misogynistic remarks towards Mamata Banerjee at a campaign rally in Chaitanyapur, East Midnapore. State finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya condemned Gangopadhyay’s derogatory language. Mamata, who was campaigning in nearby Haldia – a part of Tamluk constituency – didn’t refer to Gangopadhyay once in her 36-minute speech.
