A strike by Karnataka’s state-run transport workers has disrupted bus services across the state, causing significant inconvenience to commuters. The workers are protesting over unpaid salaries, wage revision delays, and privatization concerns. Despite a high court directive to halt the strike, unions proceeded, demanding the release of 38 months of arrears.

The statement came after US President Donald Trump on Monday announced to raise tariffs on Indian goods over the purchase and sale of Russian oil.

The Army also condemned media’s portrayal of the incident, calling it “sensationalist”, and warned against attempts to tarnish reputation of the armed forces.
