11 people were killed and several vehicles fell into the Mahisagar (Mahi) River after a section of the Gambhira-Mujpur bridge in Padra taluka of Gujarat’s Vadodara collapsed on Wednesday.

In Gujarat’s Vadodara district, a section of the Gambhira Bridge collapsed, causing a truck, van, and car to fall into the Mahisagar River. Rescue teams are working at the site, with ten fatalities confirmed and nine individuals hospitalised with injuries. Prime Minister Modi has offered condolences and announced financial assistance for the victims’ families.

During Wednesday’s Bihar Bandh protest against the Election Commission’s electoral roll revision, Congress leaders Kanhaiya Kumar and Pappu Yadav were seemingly prevented from boarding a vehicle carrying Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders.
