The Raja Saab OTT Release Prabhasâ Film to Stream Online From THIS Date

Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab was tipped to be one of the most anticipated films of the season. Released amid huge expectations during the recent Sankranti festival, the Maruti directorial turned out to be a major letdown. The horror-comedy neither excited fans nor struck a chord with general audiences, eventually emerging as a box-office disappointment.

The Raja Saab now gets a second chance and may find a new lease of life if it manages to engage audiences on the small screen. According to reports, JioHotstar has bagged the film’s digital streaming rights and is planning to premiere it on February 6, 2026. Interestingly, the horror-comedy will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, but not in Hindi. The film, which released on January 9, 2026, completed its mandatory four-week theatrical window by February 6. Several recent films that struggled at the box office have found appreciation online, and this development has offered some respite to the makers. Moreover, reports suggest that the OTT version will feature a few corrections, with certain scenes from the theatrical cut, particularly those facing backlash for poor VFX, being removed. It remains to be seen whether the film’s underperformance at the box office will impact its digital reception.

Prabhas’ tryst with the genre

The Raja Saab generated significant curiosity as it marked Prabhas’s first foray into the horror-comedy genre. Moving away from larger-than-life roles, the superstar experimented with a street-smart character laced with wit and humour. While the film opened to strong numbers on its first day, collections fizzled out soon after. Although it grossed over Rs 200 crore worldwide initially, theatrical occupancy remained critically low across the Telugu and Hindi markets.

Dhurandhar Hits OTT With Muted Dialogues and Trimmed Scenes

Dhurandhar has released on OTT after a successful theatrical run. The movie has earned approximately Rs 1000 crores at the Box Office. However, many fans who watched it in the theatres before revealed that the film was censored for its OTT release. Social media has been flooded with outrage about major dialogues being muted or scenes being cut. Fans also discussed that a total of 10 minutes of the movie has been removed by the streaming platform. This includes censoring abusive language. Many fans were confused about the logic of censoring an adult movie in a platform that streams content for 18+ audience.

One fan wrote, “Man what’s the point of releasing #DhurandharOnNetflix when the cuss words are muted… A certificate me bhi censorship… Probably they don’t want any backlash before Dhurandhar 2. But still I had hopes to witness the uncensored version…” Another fan commented, “Why the f**k Dhurandhar is so heavily censored on Netflix? Despite holding an ‘A’ (Adults only) rating, the streaming version features muted dialogues — censored swear words, abuses, and in some cases, even crucial dialogues are muted, and approximately 10 minutes of edited (cut scenes) compared to the theatrical.” Another tweet mentioned, “Why have you censored the cuss words in #Dhurandhar? What’s the goddamn point if we can’t enjoy any movie properly? Do you censor cuss words in any english movie? No, right? Then why this discrimination? DISAPPOINTED.”

Dhurandhar

Our reviewer gave the movie 3.5 stars. We wrote, “Dhurandhar remains an arresting film, bold in its scale, muscular in its action, textured in its craft, and powered by performances that elevate even its weaker stretches. It is imperfect, overlong, but never dull. And in Akshaye Khanna, it gives Hindi cinema one of its most memorable antagonists in recent years.”
