Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s attempt to latch on to US President Donald Trump’s “dead economy” remark to attack the Narendra Modi government has backfired, with his party colleagues and allies taking an opposite stand.

A special NIA court acquitted Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Prasad Purohit, and five others in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, citing lack of evidence and procedural lapses. The court stated that the UAPA could not be applied due to defective sanction orders and noted the prosecution failed to prove key evidence. Families of the deceased will receive compensation.
