Hrithik Roshan Praises Vir Das Happy Patel Calls It Fun to Watch

Actor Hrithik Roshan has extended his praise to comedian-actor Vir Das for his directorial debut, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos. In the film, Das plays a UK citizen tasked by British intelligence to infiltrate a Goan gang.
Roshan, who himself has famously portrayed a spy in previous projects, took to social media to share his appreciation for the caper comedy, giving Vir a resounding vote of confidence as a filmmaker. Sharing his reaction, Hrithik wrote on Instagram, “Very very entertained by Happy Patel. Congrats Vir. The ingenuity of mixing incredible silliness with a relentless screenplay was so much fun to watch!”

Besides Vir Das, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos also stars Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar, Sharib Hashmi, Aamir Khan, Imran Khan, Srushti Tawade. Happy Patel is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions.
Filmfare’s Review of Happy Patel

Filmfare rated Happy Patel 3.5 out of 5 and wrote, “The film doesn’t take itself seriously, and neither should you. Writers Vir Das and Amogh Ranadive invest only the bare minimum in plot and screenplay, so logic is best left at the door. The film is essentially structured as a string of gags centred around Das’ comic persona. Cooking becomes a recurring motif. Happy whips up meals for his gay dads (who also happen to be crack British agents), his ladylove and even the villain. The film eventually climaxes in a MasterChef-style cook-off between Happy and Mama, presided over by Sanjeev Kapoor playing himself, with Meiyang Chang as host…Watch this one if you are in the mood for unapologetic silliness laced with cuss words, sex jokes, toilet humour and satirical jabs at beauty products, among other targets. Some viewers may find the humour offensive, but today’s younger audiences are unlikely to mind. Film buffs, meanwhile, will enjoy spotting the layered meta references to Bollywood’s beloved masala traditions.”
