Scientists, Gaganyaan astronaut bat for Ladakh as Moon & Mars analogue research site

Scientists from IISc and BSIP identified Ladakh as the ideal location for India’s first Mars and Moon analogue research station. They highlighted the region’s cold, arid terrain and similarities to extra-terrestrial conditions, emphasizing its suitability for testing space technologies and training astronauts, advancing India’s ambitious space programs, including human spaceflight missions and future Mars exploration.
