The highly anticipated teaser of the Korean film My Name is Loh Kiwan is finally unveiled.

Adapted from the novel by Jo Hae Jin, titled I Met Loh Kiwan (literal title), My Name is Loh Kiwan depicts the tale of the encounter, separation, and romance between Loh Kiwan, a defector from North Korea (played by Song Joong-ki), who arrives in Belgium with his final glimmer of hope, and Marie (portrayed by Choi Sung-eun), a woman who has lost her will to live.
The teaser of the film depicts the story of Loh Kiwan’s arrival in Belgium. Anxiously waiting in front of immigration, Loh Kiwan finally enters Belgium, only to find that all he has in this unfamiliar land is the harsh cold and hunger, with loneliness as his only companion.
While attempting to validate his refugee status, glimpses of Loh Kiwan’s life in North Korea are depicted. Despite his efforts, he is informed, “As of now, we cannot confirm that you are from North Korea,” Unable to bear the situation any longer, he collapses on the ground.
Nevertheless, Loh Kiwan encounters Marie (Choi Sung Eun), a Korean expert marksman with Belgian nationality who has lost her will to live.
The teaser ends with Loh Kiwan saying, “I have managed to come this far by promising myself that I would endure and overcome whatever hell I experienced in this land, My name is Loh Kiwan.”
Along with the teaser, the makers also dropped the poster of the film featuring Song Joong-ki standing in the middle of the crowd text that reads, “I have decided to survive in this land.”
My Name is Loh Kiwan will premiere on OTT on March 1, 2024.
