Khushi Kapoor, who marked her Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, made quite an impression at the film’s grand premiere. She caught everyone’s attention by donning one of her late mother Sridevi’s gowns for the significant occasion.
In an interview with a leading portal, the budding star revealed that her choice of outfit for the premiere wasn’t a meticulously planned decision. While discussing options with her stylist beforehand, who suggested modern gowns among other choices, Khushi, passionate about fashion and experimentation, opted not to make a bold statement that day. Nervous about the enormity of the occasion, she had a last-minute idea to infuse something personal into her ensemble. Rummaging through a collection of old clothes, she picked an item that held sentimental value.
When asked about her decision to pursue a career in the film industry, Khushi shared that it was a childhood aspiration. Growing up on film sets, it became her playground, and she couldn’t envision doing anything else. The allure of the camera, lights, and the art of storytelling enticed her from a young age.
Reflecting on her childhood spent on her parents’ film sets, Khushi recalled accompanying her mother during a phase when Sridevi had stepped back from acting. She faintly remembered being on the sets of the sitcom Malini Iyer. Additionally, she reminisced about being on her father Boney Kapoor’s movie sets, specifically mentioning the sets of Wanted. One of her most cherished memories was from English Vinglish, her mother’s comeback film, where she spent time on set, especially during the New York scenes. This film holds a special place as one of her favourites.
Meanwhile, The Archies also marked the debut of Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, and Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.
