Doctors had earlier revealed that Khan experienced a minimal brain haemorrhage and underwent a diagnostic procedure known as Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) as part of his treatment. The medical team initially placed him on ventilator support as a precaution while conducting tests, given his age and the need to closely monitor his condition.
Since news of his hospitalisation surfaced, several members of the film fraternity have visited the hospital to check on him and support the Khan family. Actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt are among those who reportedly came to see the veteran screenwriter during his stay.
Salim Khan, now 90, is widely regarded as one of the most influential writers in Hindi cinema. Along with Javed Akhtar, he formed the iconic Salim–Javed duo, responsible for landmark films such as Sholay, Deewar, Zanjeer and Don. Their storytelling shaped the era of the “angry young man” in Bollywood and continues to influence filmmakers today.

Akhtar’s update has brought relief to fans and industry colleagues who have been closely following developments about Khan’s health. While he continues to remain under medical care, the positive signs of recovery have given well-wishers hope that the legendary writer will soon regain full strength.
