Eminem drops his new single Houdini, from the upcoming 12th album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), releasing this summer.
The song begins with the classic Eminem trope, enlisting his longtime manager Paul Rosenberg who shares his distaste of the album that is yet to come. It starts with Rosenburg wishing Em good luck for the new album and saying that he is on his own.
The song is somewhat a callback to his 2002 single Without Me, which begins with the singsong rhymes, “Guess who’s back, back again / Shady’s back, tell a friend.” The song is produced by Eminem and his longtime collaborator Luis Resto. It cites Steve Miller Band’s Abracadabra on the chorus and also references Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting incident on one of the lines.
