The release of Akhanda 2, starring Balakrishna, which was supposed to release on December 5, 2025 has been postponed indefinitely. On Wednesday, The Madras High Court passed injunction orders against the film producers over an earlier financial arbitral. While the efforts for a smooth release of Akhanda 2 are currently on, fans and film trade are hoping that the issue would be resolved amicably soon facilitating a smooth release. Amid crisis, we have learnt that Balakrishna has reportedly stepped in to ease out the burden on the filmmakers.

Balakrishna, Boyapati cut down remunerations?
According to sources, Balakrishna is doing his bit to help and bail out the producers of Akhanda 2. He had reportedly agreed to forgo 25 percent of his remuneration. Not just Balayya, but the film’s director Boyapati Srinu had also agreed for a pay cut in his fee to bring down the load. The damage for the film has already been done – trade pundits predict that Akhanda 2 may have lost significant revenue (approximately Rs 10 cr) from its Thursday premieres, had they been screened. Adding to the existing woes, slotting another good release date and holding good theatres overseas is another task. While Akhanda 2 team exudes confidence that the film will strike a chord with the audiences whenever it releases, we have to wait and see as to when the issue would be resolved.

Producer Suresh Babu reacts…

As part of the film’s press conference, he was asked to comment about the Akhanda 2 turmoil. He expressed confidence that the issue would be resolved soon. “Those (legal and financial issues of Akhanda 2) are all financial matters and should not be discussed in the open. Unfortunately, the business aspect (of a film) is going too much to the streets. Why are we getting into all those details, audiences have to watch a film, that’s it, said Suresh Babu recalling that financial issues do exist.
