Italy’s health ministry warned residents and tourists of soaring temperatures across the country, issuing a red alert for 21 cities this weekend, including Rome and Venice, as temperatures could rise to 37 degrees Celsius.

Kalyan Banerjee, a Trinamool Congress leader, made a controversial statement regarding the Kolkata law college rape case. He questioned the possibility of preventing such incidents between friends. A student was allegedly raped within the college premises on June 25. Police arrested three men, including a former student leader Manojit Mishra. Mishra has connections with senior Trinamool Congress leaders.

According to the complaint accessed by CNN-News18, the victim alleged that the main accused threatened to harm her boyfriend and falsely implicate her parents in criminal cases
