A Lufthansa flight to Hyderabad was forced to make a U-turn and returned to land back at Frankfurt Airport on Sunday evening after passengers were told it was not given “permission to land” in India.

The number of tourists visiting Kundmala has increased in the last few months. Officials said that every weekend, around eight thousand people were passing through the dilapidated bridge.

A Lufthansa flight bound for Hyderabad from Frankfurt was compelled to return to its origin due to a bomb threat received while the aircraft was outside Indian airspace. Initially, passengers were informed that the diversion was due to a denial of landing permission at Hyderabad. Passengers have been provided accommodation and are scheduled to fly out the next morning.
