Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was found in a gorge in Meghalaya on June 2 and the police say his wife, Sonam, had planned the murder because she was in love with Raj Kushwaha, an employee in her family-run business.

The Ministry of External Affairs has taken up the detention of an Indian student in the US with the US embassy, according to sources. This follows an incident at Newark Airport where another Indian student was allegedly handcuffed and deported. The Indian Embassy in Washington DC and the Consulate in New York are seeking details.

Sonam Raghuvanshi allegedly paid her lover, Raj Kushwaha, Rs 50,000 to orchestrate the travel of him and three others to Shillong. The group tracked Sonam and her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon, with Sonam providing live locations.
