A man in Gujarat has been arrested for allegedly sharing key information related to the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Border Security Force (BSF) with a Pakistani agent, officials said on Saturday.

Rajendra Hagawane, an expelled NCP functionary, and his son Sushil were apprehended in Swargate after a week-long search following the alleged suicide of Vaishnavi Hagawane. Police teams had been actively pursuing them since the incident on May 16 in Bhukum. A court has remanded both into custody until May 28 for further investigation.

The BJP has strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi’s description of the Poonch attack as a “tragedy,” accusing him of downplaying terrorism. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla alleged Gandhi was “whitewashing” Pakistan’s actions and providing them “cover fire.” Gandhi, during his visit to Poonch, met with affected families, expressing his commitment to raising their concerns nationally after the cross-border shelling.
