External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has criticised the West for its support of military regimes in Pakistan, asserting that this backing has significantly undermined democracy in the country. He highlighted Europe’s focus on its own energy needs, questioning the expectation that other nations should suffer due to Europe’s actions regarding Russian oil.

Shashi Tharoor refuted Donald Trump’s claim of mediating between India and Pakistan, clarifying that no formal mediation was requested or conducted. He emphasized that while India maintains contact with concerned nations during crises, it doesn’t constitute mediation. An all-party delegation, led by Tharoor, will visit the US to explain India’s counter-terrorism approach and Operation Sindoor, launched after a terror attack.
