The nation mourns the loss of 28 lives in a terror attack in Pahalgam, including navy lieutenant Vinay Narwal, whose recent marriage adds to the tragedy. Emotional farewells were held at Delhi’s IGI Airport, with his wife inconsolably grieving. Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta paid respects, while Narwal’s remains were taken to his family in Karnal, Haryana.

Siddaramaiah also said that more than 40 Kannadigas were stranded in the region and that he had ordered a special airlift operation to bring them back home safely

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said all airlines have been requested to stand in solidarity with the public and not start panic pricing.
