They are notorious for stealing valuables at marriage functions in various states and resisting arrest through violence, but, Madhya Pradesh Police turned the tables on the infamous Kadiya gang by apprehending four members at their wedding.

Following violent protests in Murshidabad, West Bengal, over the Waqf Amendment Act, the state police have formed a Special Investigation Team to investigate the unrest. The demonstrations, which resulted in fatalities and property damage, prompted the deployment of BSF personnel at the request of the state government.
