China has called on the European Union to join hands to resist “unilateral bullying” by the US, referring to the sweeping (and staggering) 145 per cent tariffs imposed by Donald Trump on Chinese imports.

The appeal was made by President Xi Jinping as he met his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sanchez, in Beijing, state-run news agency Xinhua reported.

Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the 64-year-old Canadian of Pakistani origin, was extradited from the US to India to face trial for his role in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, which killed 166 people. Accused of aiding co-conspirator David Headley, Rana allegedly praised the attackers. His extradition, after a lengthy legal battle, is hailed as a major step in securing justice for the victims.
