A Romanian hard-right NATO critic and pro-Russia candidate who now leads Romania’s presidential race. Calin Georgescu eliminated the EU-leaning premier Marcel Ciolacu ahead of a December runoff. Calin Georgescu was in pole position with 22.95% of the ballot, followed by Elena Lasconi, the centre-right mayor of a small town. Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, with 19.15% of the vote, was eliminated from the December 8 runoff. The press conference for Danube Properties Filmfare OTT Awards 2024 co-powered by Hyundai Motor India Ltd. was held today in the presence of director duo Raj & DK, Bhumi Pednekar and Filmfare’s Editor-in-Chief, Jitesh Pillaai. The first edition of the awards was held in 2020, at a time when the digital space had started to bloom amid the pandemic. The director duo praised Filmfare for its effort to recognize and appreciate this form of storytelling.  

Raj said, “Filmfare has been doing great and has been one of the firsts to jump on it and say we need to recognize and acknowledge this storytelling format. I am very glad that they did and continue to do so. And I am happy to help and support in any way. That’s why we are here.”

DK continued, “It’s a great initiative that Filmfare is having an award for series and long-format storytelling. It is good for a prestigious name to be doing this. It gives a boost to all the people who work hard around the year and produce shows. At the end of the year, they have something to look forward to and it is a prestigious award to be winning.”
