Toddlers & Tiaras Alums Reveal About Disturbing Death Threats And Eating Issues Following Show’s Airing

Trigger Warning: The article contains mentions of death threats.

When reality shows air, stories about the show’s stars receiving any type of threat have become a common theme and TLC’s Toddler’s & Tiara was no stranger to that. The venture’s alums talked about the disturbing threats they received and the food issues they dealt with after the show aired.

On Vice’s Dark Side of Reality TV’s Tuesday episode many stars of the show appeared and talked about their experiences. A pageant mom, Kelly Lyerly who was featured on the show in 2012 and 2013 with her two daughters “Taira Twins” Alycesaundra and Giavanna Lyerly, talked about receiving death threats for a long period.

Lyerly said that people would say to her that her children were going to hate her, that she was a “terrible mother,” and that she “exploited” her children.

The series ran from 2009 to 2013 and was also revived in 2016 for one season, which again sparked the attention towards it.

She said that she recently received the death threat again and this time an individual called her on her phone and told her that they were “gonna kill” her.

Darci McHenry shared that social media had been the real problem, even at that time when she a on the show with her daughter, Devin. Devin’s body-painted cheetah look in the series reportedly garnered virality online.

McHenry revealed about getting private messages on Devin’s fan pages. She talked about receiving things like videos and that opened them to receiving some “pretty creepy correspondences.”

She added, “The comments were getting crazier and crazier. Things like comments from grown men and ‘Oh my god, look at that sexy thing!'” McHenry shared that she blocks them.

She said that she was not going to look at a video of a person enjoying themselves to the picture of her daughter, she does not need to witness that.

EverRose Sims, who was the constant of the TLC show, stated that the show zoomed in on her weight when she was a little girl, which affected her.

Her mother, Kayla Sims, talked about noticing that while they were shooting, they followed her daughter and captured everything she would put in her mouth. EverRose being on diet became the plotline and this had adverse effects on her.

EverRose shared about knowing that she did have a good relationship with food. She said that she tried to hide it so no one would notice what she was eating.

Being an adult, she said that she is not able to eat in front of people because she is conscious of herself when it comes to that, as the entire world witnessed her eat.  She said that to this day, she suffers from a struggling relationship with food.

Wendy Dickey, who was a pageant mom, expressed feeling like TLC used them, and their family for the promotion of the show. She added, “Toddlers & Tiaras pushed the agenda, and they were really behind some of the negative media.” Many other alums also reportedly expressed the same feeling.

John Krasinski Crowned People’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive; Check His Reaction to the Title HERE

John Krasinski has been named People’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive, and in all honesty, we feel he’s a very well-deserved victor. The actor, who rose to fame as the original rizz master Jim Halpert in the US version of The Office, told the outlet that he didn’t really know what to think of the honor when he got the news.

“Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” he described his feelings upon learning that he would be taking on the mantle from People Magazine’s 2023 Sexiest Man Alive, Patrick Dempsey. For a minute, Krasinski admitted he even thought he was being pranked. “That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.”

Elsewhere, Krasinski joked with the magazine that he’s hoping his wife, fellow Hollywood icon Emily Blunt, makes good on the promise to plaster the cover as wallpaper at their Brooklyn home. Blunt, according to Krasinski, was “very excited” to hear the news, and “there was a lot of joy involved” in him telling her.

Krasinski and Blunt, for those unfamiliar, have been married for 14 years and are parents to two daughters: Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8.

On a more serious note, the actor told People that he appreciates his life with The Devil Wears Prada star, as being married to her allows him to constantly learn and evolve.

In addition to acting, Krasinski has also contributed to showbiz as a writer, director, and producer, with some of his critically acclaimed productions being The Quiet Place franchise and the recent IF movie.

Krasinski’s next Hollywood project is alongside Natalie Portman in the action heist film Fountain of Youth.

Now in its 40th year of awarding the Sexiest Man Alive title, People’s first Sexiest Man Alive was Mel Gibson. Other past recipients include Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Chris Hemsworth, David Beckham, Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Rudd, Pierce Brosnan, Chris Evans, Blake Shelton, John F. Kennedy, and more.

Krasinski, however, has already begun feeling the weight of the title awarded to him, as he told People that, if anything, his wife is going to make him do extra household chores and really make him earn it at home.

People’s annual Sexiest Man Alive issue hits US newsstands on Friday.

“House Embodies Hope”: Supreme Court Demolishes ‘Bulldozer Justice’ Idea

The Executive cannot replace the Judiciary and legal process should not prejudge guilt of an accused, the Supreme Court said today, taking a tough stand on the issue of ‘bulldozer justice’ and laying down guidelines for carrying out demolition.

The bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Viswanathan delivered its judgment on petitions challenging bulldozer action against people accused of crimes. This trend, which caught on in several states, is referred to as ‘bulldozer justice’. State authorities have, in the past, said only illegal structures were demolished in such cases. But several petitions were filed before the court, flagging the extrajudicial nature of the action.

Justice Gavai said it is the dream of every family to have a house and an important question before the court was whether the Executive should be allowed to take away someone’s shelter. “The rule of law is the foundation of a democratic government… the issue relates to fairness in the criminal justice system, which mandates that legal process should not prejudge guilt of accused,” the bench said.

“We have considered the rights guaranteed under the Constitution that provide protection to individuals from arbitrary State action. The rule of law provides a framework to make sure individuals know property will not be taken away arbitrarily,” it added.

On the separation of powers, the bench said adjudicatory functions are entrusted to the judiciary and the “Executive cannot replace the Judiciary”. “We have referred to the doctrine of public trust and public accountability. We have concluded that if Executive demolishes the house of person arbitrarily merely because he is accused, it violates principle of separation of powers,” Justice Gavai said.

The court said accountability must be fixed on public officials who take law into their hands and act in a high-handed manner. “State and its officials can’t take arbitrary and excessive measures. If any officer of the State has abused his power or acted in total arbitrary or malafide manner, he cannot be spared,” it added.

Justice Gavai pointed that when a particular structure is chosen for demolition suddenly and similar other properties are not touched, then the presumption could be that the real motive was not razing the illegal structure, but “penalising without trial”.

“For an average citizen, construction of a house is the culmination of years of hard work, dreams and aspirations. House embodies collective hope of security and future. If this is taken away, authorities must satisfy it is the only way,” the bench said.

The court also questioned if authorities can demolish a house and deprive its residents of shelter if only one person residing there is an accused.

Using its powers under Article 142 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court laid down guidelines for demolitions. It said no demolition should be carried out without a showcause notice. The person this notice is served to can respond within 15 days or the time provided in local civic laws, whichever is later.

This notice must have information of the nature of unauthorised construction, details on the specific violation and the grounds for demolition, the court said. The authority concerned must hear the accused and then pass a final order, it added. The house owner will be given a 15-day period to remove the illegal structure and authorities will proceed with a demolition only if an appellate authority doesn’t pause the order.

Violation of the court’s directions would lead to contempt proceedings, the bench warned. Officers should be told that if a demolition exercise is found to be in violation of norms, they will be held responsible for restitution of the demolished property, the court said. The cost for this, the court said, would be recovered from the officials’ salary.

The court said all local municipal authorities must set up a digital portal within three months that has details of showcause notices served and final orders on illegal structures.
