Blue Lock Season 2 Responds to Criticism; Aims for Redemption as U-20 Japan Arc Kicks Off

Blue Lock Season 2 is gearing up to win back fans after a disappointing start. With the anime now set to feature its highly anticipated match between Blue Lock players and Japan’s Under-20 (U-20) team, creators hope to bring a resurgence of excitement. Officially titled Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan, the new arc has drawn attention as this pivotal game could determine the future of the Blue Lock project. In this showdown, the stakes are high for protagonist Isagi Yoichi and his teammates, whose soccer dreams hinge on success in the match.

Season 2 of Blue Lock has faced criticism, with many fans expressing disappointment over the quality of animation in early episodes. Visuals and pacing issues have been cited as points of concern, leaving fans hoping for improvements. Viewers are eager to see if these challenges were a result of preparation for the upcoming match scenes, where a renewed focus on animation quality is anticipated. According to reports from the production team, scheduling issues have caused some difficulties in meeting the high visual standards of Season 1. The lack of fluid motion in recent episodes sparked further disappointment, leading many to look forward to Episode 30, set to air on November 9, where the season’s main event begins.

As the Blue Lock team finalizes its lineup, the U-20 Japan team is also introducing new characters with distinctive traits. The new cast includes several prominent voice actors, such as Jun Kasama as Kento Cho and Gakuto Kajiwara as Teru Kitsunezato, adding fresh energy to the roster. The addition of these characters is expected to intensify the dynamic rivalry between both teams. Promos and trailers highlight the personalities and skills that each new character brings, building excitement for this turning point in the story.

Blue Lock, which premiered in 2022 and concluded its debut season in 2023, quickly became popular among anime fans. The show, based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura’s manga, has earned a loyal fanbase. The first season’s success was followed by the announcement of both a second season and a movie titled Episode Nagi. However, the transition to Season 2 has shown some strain, as animation challenges and scheduling constraints have impacted production quality.

As Blue Lock enters this critical match, fans are eager to see if the next episodes can deliver the intense soccer action that made the series a hit. The creators’ focus is now on redeeming the season with this major arc, hoping that the quality and excitement of the U-20 Japan match will restore fans’ enthusiasm and secure Blue Lock’s standing as a top sports anime.

Singham Again Opening Weekend Box Office: Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty film hits Rs 110 crore in 3 days flat

The Rohit Shetty cop universe film, Singham Again has scored a very good result in its opening weekend as the early estimates indicate a 3-day business in the range of Rs 109 crore to Rs 111 crore in India. The film has entered the Rs 100 crore club in 3-day flat and has become the fastest to do so for Ajay Devgn. After opening at Rs 40.25 crore on Friday, Singham Again scored Rs 38.25 crore on Saturday and approximately Rs 31 crore on Sunday, hitting a century in a span of just 3-days despite the high-profile clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Singham Again is performing the best in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Bihar, as the performance outside these 3 circuits is not as strong as expected. While the numbers are strong on the face of it, the business on Sunday should have been a lot better. The weekend trajectory rules out the chances of films to enter the Rs 300 crore club, and it’s the Monday that will decide how far can the film go in the long run. The three-day total of Singham Again is the biggest till date for both Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, and the film has now embarked on the journey to become the biggest grosser of cop universe by topping Simmba (Rs 240 crore).

The top 3 national chains – PVRInox & Cinepolis – have collected around Rs 53 crore over the three-day-period, contributing 48 percent to the total business. Singham Again is faring well across the board over the weekend, but it will all boil down to the holds over the coming few weeks, as the verdict of Singham Again will be determined by the legs it has post the Diwali 2024 weekend. The business is very good over the 3-day period, but there’s still a long way to go owing to the costs and names associated.

Here’s a look at the opening weekend business of Singham Again:

Day
Weekend collection

Friday
Rs 40.25 crore

Saturday
Rs 38.25 crore

Sunday
Rs 31 crore (Estimates)

Total
Rs 109.5 crore (Approx)

Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates!

Note: Actuals in the morning, as the business can change based on the final business in the National Chains. However, the present trends indicates a Sunday around Rs 32.00 crore mark.
