Jigra India Box Office Collections 2nd Weekend: Alia Bhatt’s action-drama earns Rs 1.90 crore on Day 10; crosses Rs 25 crore mark

Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and starring Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina and Manoj Pahwa, couldn’t lure the audience much at the box office. The limited appeal coupled with mixed word-of-mouth curtailed its business to a major extent.

Jigra earns Rs 4.60 Crore in 2nd Weekend, surpassing Rs 25 crore mark

After collecting an underwhelming Rs 21.95 crore in its first week, the Alia Bhatt starrer added Rs 4.60 crore in its second weekend and surpassed the Rs 25 crore mark in India.

The movie entered the 2nd week by minting Rs 1 crore on Day 8, followed by Rs 1.70 crore on Day 9 and Rs 1.90 crore on Day 10. The total cume of Jigra has reached Rs 26.55 crore net in its 10 days at the Indian box office.

Jigra performs well overseas, crossing Rs 50 crore mark worldwide

While Jigra remained underwhelming in the domestic markets, the Vasan Bala-directed movie is doing well in the international markets. The prison-break action-drama has grossed more than USD 2 million overseas in 10 days of its release. The total box office collection of Jigra currently stands at Rs 50 crore gross globally.

The movie remained the 2nd most preferred choice among Dussehra releases after Rajkummar Rao’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. The movie still has some legs to maintain its grip until the Diwali releases, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 arrive. It is expected to close its theatrical run somewhere around Rs 35 crore net in India and Rs 100 crore worldwide gross.

Though the movie might have a favourable theatrical run, the makers had already signed a good non-theatrical deal to make it a profitable venture.

Kabir is the one with the drugs but it is Ankur who gets wrongly implicated, much thanks to Kabir’s powerful father. Ankur is given a life sentence.

Happy Birthday Andrew Scott: When Ripley Star Revealed THIS Aspect Of His Role In Netflix Series Left Him ‘Terrified’

Andrew Scott has always impressed with his charming yet intimidating screen presence. The Irish actor, born on October 21, 1976, has taken on some eye-opening roles in both movies and series, and he recently turned 48. He once opened up about a role that truly terrified him.

Scott is well-known for his portrayal of Jim Moriarty in Sherlock, but he also took on the role of Tom Ripley in the Netflix miniseries Ripley. While this performance is considered one of his most chilling, it was also one of the most challenging for the 1917 actor.

Appearing on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Andrew Scott divulged that for more than 15% of his on-screen time, playing the titular character, he had to speak authentic Italian.

In the April 5, 2024, episode, All of Us Strangers actor Andrew Scott described the role of Tom Ripley as “genuinely terrifying,” noting that it required him to be “good at speaking Italian.”

He elaborated, saying, “So, I’m an Irishman playing an American speaking Italian, but I’m also an Irishman playing an American imitating another American, speaking Italian.”

Portraying Tom Ripley in the Netflix series was “a lot” for Scott, who admitted that it was a matter of “one’s own pride” to ensure he got it right.

During the aforementioned episode, Andrew Scott even joked that the role still makes him nervous, while he was even seen assuring himself that it’s all over now.

Talking about his character and how its portrayal was a tough one to depict, the Saving Private Ryan star stressed, “I love the fact that, of course, Tom is so talented that he would be good at speaking in Italy. So that was an added pressure.”

However, the critics and the audience who instantly became fans of the show went on to praise Scott’s on-screen skills and talent, calling it “mesmerizing,” “phenomenal,” and “transcendent.”

Andrew Scott has also been widely appreciated for playing Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes alongside the legendary Benedict Cumberbatch as well as Martin Freeman and some more great actors.

The star even amazed his followers by portraying the character of The Priest in Fleabag alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

“India Has Credibility To Mediate In Ukraine War”: David Cameron At NDTV World Summit

Former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, speaking at the NDTV World Summit today, said that India can play a key role in scaling down the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

“India has the credibility to be a mediator in the Ukraine war,” Mr Cameron said at the NDTV World Summit.

More than two and a half years into the war, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has shown no signs of any breakthrough in ceasefire talks.

“India might be in a position to mediate but it has to ensure that Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot be allowed to take territory by force,” Mr Cameron added.

President Putin on Friday said it is difficult to specify a timeline for ending the prolonged war in Ukraine but claimed that his country will win, as he appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s concern over the situation.

Both Russia and Ukraine have denied targeting civilians in the 2-1/2-year war that Russia launched against its smaller neighbour with a full-scale invasion.

Days ahead of the 16th BRICS Summit to be hosted by Moscow, President Putin endorsed PM Modi’s description of the grouping, saying the Indian leader had “aptly” noted that it is “not an anti-western one but a non-western one”.

He also made it clear the grouping, which has since been expanded from five initial members to include five more countries, should not be seen as a “bloc-style organisation”.

PM Modi is due to visit Kazan to attend the BRICS summit on October 22-23.
