‘A Second Son’: Liam Payne Remembered By One Direction Bandmate Niall Horan’s Mom In Heartfelt Tribute

Liam Payne’s sudden death has left people mourning globally. Niall Horan’s mother, Maura Gallagher, is one of those individuals. She shared a heartfelt tribute, remembering him on October 19, 2024.

Gallagher posted the tribute on Facebook, where she wrote a lengthy and emotional note expressing her shock over Payne’s passing.

She also reflected on the “pleasure” of watching the late singer grow into a wonderful musician and individual.

Gallagher recalled how the One Direction members started their journey on The X Factor and how Payne was always filled with “energy and passion.”

She further wrote, “Liam was like a second son to me, and I always had a special place in my heart for him. I remember all the times he would come over to our house, and we would have dinner together as a family. He was always so kind and respectful, and I loved how he would make us all laugh with his silly jokes and stories.”

Gallagher expressed that, as a mother, it is difficult for her to put into words the grief and pain of losing someone so close.

She added, “As a mother, it’s hard to put into words the pain and grief that comes with losing someone so dear. My heart goes out to Liam’s family and friends, and I can only imagine the pain they must be going through. I want them to know that they are not alone, and that we are all here for them.”

Niall‘s mother further shared about the other members’ devastation over his death and it being difficult to watch them experience that. She wrote that all of them were like “brothers” more than just being group members.

Gallagher concluded the post with, “I know that Liam will always be in our hearts and memories, and we will cherish the time we had with him. Rest in peace, dear Liam. You will be deeply missed #LiamPayne #RIP #OneDirection.”

Former members of the infamous band– Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson also shared emotionally charged posts remembering their fellow bandmate.

Payne passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He was repeatedly found outside of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was just 31 years old.

Kerala government warns Supreme Court against glorifying actor Siddique without revealing the truth

Trigger Warning: This particular article contains information regarding sexual assault which might be triggering for some readers.

The case involving actor Siddique took a new turn after the Kerala government urged the Supreme Court to reveal the truth about him to the public before he was “glorified” as a hero in history. According to a report by Mathrubhumi, officials have warned the Supreme Court to take immediate action before future generations start regarding the actor as an icon. As per a report submitted to the Supreme Court, the Kerala government has requested that the court expose Siddique’s true character and reject his anticipatory bail petition in the rape case filed against him.

Meanwhile, the investigating officer in Siddique’s case submitted a report stating that the actor had not cooperated at all during the ongoing investigation. Despite being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court, the actor has refused to cooperate with the case.

According to the report, evidence against Siddique has already been gathered by officials during the preliminary stage of the investigation. However, it has also been reported that the complainant might withdraw the case filed against the actor if the court grants him anticipatory bail.

Earlier, during a hearing, the Supreme Court questioned why the alleged victim took almost eight years to come forward and file a rape case. It was further argued that the complainant was only 21 years old when the incident took place. Additionally, Siddique was a powerful figure in the Malayalam film industry, making it difficult for her to raise her voice at the time.

Given the circumstances, the government has urged the Supreme Court to be considerate of the victim’s situation. Meanwhile, the complainant has alleged that she was raped by Siddique in 2016. She stated, “I was locked in a room. He abused me physically and told me it was okay if I didn’t allow him to cross the limits.”

Disclaimer: If you or anyone you know is suffering from any kind of sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, do not hesitate to seek help. There are several helplines available for the same, remember you are not alone in the fight.

A Ukraine Drone Hovered Over Russian Troops. Then A Rocket Rained Fire

A drone this week helped Ukrainian troops attack a military training facility of Russian troops in Zaporizhzhia Oblast in Russian-occupied southern Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian drone spotted the Russian troops, a 660-pound rocket, reportedly packed with hundreds of grenade-sized submunitions, attacked them.

At the time of the attack on October 15, there were about 24 soldiers in the area, Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces said in a statement on Facebook without specifying the number of casualties.

They also tagged a video that showed the drone footage of an initial explosion at the facility followed by a number of additional blasts in the area.

According to reports, there have been about seven attacks on Russian trainees all along the 700-mile front line since February.

Ukraine claims it has killed about 6.7 lakh Russian troops since the war began in 2022. The Ukrainian Defence Forces said on Saturday that they have destroyed 144 Russian artillery brigades, equivalent to $ 8 billion, this year.

Earlier today, regional officials said that Ukraine launched a series of drones targeting Moscow and western Russia.

Russia’s air-defence units destroyed at least one drone flying towards Moscow, the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin said.

According to preliminary information, there was no damage or casualties where debris fell in the Ramensky district of the Moscow region.

Drone debris sparked several short-lived fires in the Lipetsk region in southwestern Russia, the region’s governor said. No injuries were reported, he added.

Governors of the Bryansk and Oryol regions, also in western parts of Russia, reported that air defence units destroyed several drones there.

Ukraine has often said in the past that its air attacks target infrastructure key to Russia’s war efforts and are a response to Moscow’s continued air attacks.

Russian officials, on the other hand, often do not disclose the full extent of damage inflicted by the drone attacks, especially on military, transport or energy infrastructure.
