Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives S3: Neelam Kothari reveals her ex-husband Rishi Sethia asked her to ‘wear Indian clothes, give up non-veg and drinks’

Neelam Kothari, who is best known for movies like Hum Saath Saath Hain, Agneepath, Khudgarz, and more, returned to the screens in the Netflix show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives in 2020. As Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives Season 3 is streaming on the OTT platform, Neelam Kothari revealed that her ex-husband Rishi Sethia asked her to ‘wear Indian clothes, give up non-veg and drinks’.

During an episode of the third season of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, Neelam Kothari shared her divorce experience with her former husband, Rishi Sethia. Neelam, who is married to actor Samir Soni, opened her heart out while speaking to filmmaker Ekta Kapoor.

“I was told to wear Indian clothes, give up non-veg, and don’t drink. I was fine with everything. Changing my name also, according to me, people do that, but changing my identity, that is something I was not okay with,” the actress said.

Neelam further shared that the actress reached a point where she would ask herself about allowing her former husband to say those statements. The Hum Saath Saath Hain actress recalled when she would visit the supermarket or lunch, people would come up to her and ask if she was an actress. Neelam would deny it.

Neelam continued that it was hard but she wanted to make it work. The actress added that no woman on earth should have to deal with losing your identity.

In the same episode, Neelam also shared that her daughter Ahana once asked her mom about her divorce from Rishi Sethia. Recalling Ahana’s words, Neelam shared that she told her that the actress is a celebrity and her friends searched about her on Google.

The third season of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives premiered on Netflix on October 18. The series stars Seema Sajdeh, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, and Neelam Kothari in the lead roles. The season also features Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kalyani Saha Chawla, and Shalini Passi in crucial roles.

Neelam Kothari married Rishi Sethia in 2000. The former couple filed for divorce after some time. Neelam then started dating actor Samir Soni and finally tied the knot in 2011. Two years later in 2013, they adopted a daughter, Ahana.

Did Jessica Chastain Reschedule Shooting Of The Eyes Of Tammy Faye For Andrew Garfield? Find Out As Latter Reveals Reason

Andrew Garfield and Jessica Chastain starred together in the 2021 movie The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Ahead of his upcoming movie, We Live in Time, the actor recalled Chastain’s selfless act during the shoot of the film. In conversation with People Magazine, the Spider-Man actor revealed that the actress rescheduled the filming of the movie so that Garfield could visit his dying mother, who at the time was suffering from pancreatic cancer at the time.

While talking to the entertainment portal, the actor shared that Chastain ensured that he stays by his mother’s side when she needed him the most. Garfield was by the side of his mother for 10 days ahead of his mother, Lynn Garfield, passing away.

Elaborating over the statements, the actor shared, “What was amazing was that [Searchlight Pictures’ David Greenbaum] and Jessica rearranged the schedule last-minute—put filming on hold [in North Carolina] for a few days so that I could go back [to England] and be with my mom for 10 days.”

Apart from Chastain, the Hacksaw Ridge actor claimed that his co-star, Vincent D’Onofrio also shared kind words over the loss of his mother. Garfield, recalling D’Onofrio’s message to him, shared, “Because he had his own experience with a loss that he wasn’t able to make it back for, he said, ‘Go. You got to go.’ And I was like, ‘Well, I know I’ve got to go and thank you.’”

The Marvel star also revealed that Chastain would pick him up and they would also drive to Heritage USA after the shoot. The theme park was created by Tammy’s husband, Jim Bakker, played by the actor in the film. Garfield claimed it to be a “beautiful ritual,” as they would go down to the park every Sunday and would try to work on their chemistry to put it up on screen for their characters, Jim and Tammy.

Working on the film, the actor said, “It became a bit of a detective pursuit because there were people, like security guards and people there who used to work for Jim and Tammy.” He went on to reveal, “So we were able to get access to more information, and so it was really funny and it was very deep.”

As for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, the movie was set against the backdrop of 1970s. Garfield and Chastain were joined by Gabriel Olds, Cherry Jones, and Joe Ando, among others. The movie is available to stream on Apple TV. Meanwhile, Garfield is currently preparing for his upcoming release, We Live in Time, alongside Florence Pugh. The movie will hit theaters on January 1, 2025.

Vidya Balan jokes about marrying Javed Akhtar to be Shabana Azmi

Vidya Balan, known for her wit and candid humour, recently shared an amusing anecdote while chatting with veteran actress Shabana Azmi at a film festival in Mumbai. In a light-hearted moment, Vidya revealed her childhood admiration for Azmi, even jokingly saying, “If marrying Javed Akhtar would make me Shabana Azmi, I’d marry him.”

Balan recalled an incident from her youth when she, inspired by Azmi, claimed the iconic actress’s birthday, September 18th, as her own. “I didn’t know when her actual birthday was growing up, but after watching Arth, I learned it was September 18th. So, when a guy asked me when my birthday was, I told him the same date,” Vidya laughed, sharing how she had to play along when the boy sent her flowers on her ‘fake’ birthday. She quipped that she would’ve loved to be born on that date if it made her more like Shabana.
Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, where she will reprise her iconic role as Manjulika. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film, set to hit theatres on November 1, also stars Madhuri Dixit, Kartik Aaryan, and Triptii Dimri.
