Nobody Wants This Renewed For Season 2 At Netflix; Adam Brody-Kristen Bell To Reprise Their Roles

Nobody Wants This, starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell in the lead roles, has been picked up by Netflix for season 2. The streaming platform’s chief content officer revealed that the show’s story will continue with its romantic scenes and punch lines but with the new creators onboard.

As for the executive producer, Eric Foster will yet again take the seat as the creative voice of the series.

The first season of the Netflix series was dropped at the end of last month, leaving the fans wanting more of Brody and Bell’s chemistry. Additionally, Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan have come on board with the series as the executive producers, with the writers’ names still being under wraps. Other producers include Erin Foster, Sara Foster, Bell, Steven Levitan, and Oly Obst. 20th Television is the studio.

Konner and Kaplan had agreed to each take a seat at the show’s table before the first episode was released in September.

According to the reports, Nobody Wants This was expected to become one of the highest-viewed rom-com series. While in its initial week, the season opened at the second spot, it climbed to the first in the following week.

In a statement released by Foster ahead of the announcement for season 2, she stated that posing as a creator on the show has been a highlight of her career.

She elaborated, “The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed.”

Foster continued to say that she is lucky to be able to continue with the story and especially to be doing it alongside Konner and Kaplan.

Nobody Wants This was ordered by Netflix in March 2023, with Foster and Craig DiGregoria stepping up as the executive producers even before the show’s title was announced. However, with only two months in hand and the WGA strike going on for five months, the series was on a quite tight schedule. The cast and crew members began filming the show in January 2023 so that a release date could be retrieved.

Further details of season 2 of Nobody Wants This will be rolled out soon. The first season is available to stream on Netflix.

Justine Lupe Reveals Kristen Bell Was ‘Freaking Out’ When She Shared THIS Secret During Nobody Wants This Shooting

Justine Lupe was expecting her first baby on the Nobody Wants This set, and her co-star Kristen Bell was the first one to know about it. On Thursday 10, during her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show with her castmates, the new mom described the entire scenario of how she candidly broke the news to Bell and how she freaked out.

“I still remember she had invited me over to her house to work out together, which is LOL for a pregnant woman,” she recalled. When Lupe revealed she was expecting, Bell who was chilling in a sheet mast was “freaking out and running around with this mask on her face.”

After expressing her excitement, the Frozen actress, who is mom to daughters Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, lent some motherly advice to the then-mom-to-be. “It’s the most important thing, it’s the only thing—you can go anywhere in the world, you can have anything on your bucket list, but you’re about to go on the most special endeavor,” Lupe recalled Bell saying.

The Succession actress admitted that although revealing the news was nerve-racking, especially for her as a woman in the industry, it turned out to be the best thing ever.

The sets of Nobody Wants This was filled with support, mainly because of Bell’s fearless leadership and show creator Erin Foster’s understanding. “I felt really comfortable and happy and excited about being pregnant on set, which is a luxury,” she added.

On September 26, Lupe, who has since had her baby, took to social media to share some glimpses from the sets. The actress not only announced that she was 5+ months pregnant during the filming but also that she hid the news from the cast and crew for a long time. This show carried me through my first 5+ months of pregnancy with so much warmth,” Lupe added.

She further thanked the “fully pregnant” Foster, the champion for motherhood, Bell, and the film’s cinematographer Adrian Peng Correia for making her look “not pregnant” on screen.

Nobody Wants This is streaming on Netflix.

Amitabh Bachchan is a sociological phenomenon and master of reinvention

Salim Javed tapped into the pulse of a generation waiting to see real people in somewhat over-dramatised situations speaking and articulating their hopes and aspirations. And who better than Amitabh Bachchan to put a voice to their words? Amitabh was the underdog, the bad guy, the good guy…the man on the other side of the law. In one of his most remembered double roles #Don which also earned him his Filmfare for best actor, Amitabh was at once both suave and menacing as he was naive and unpolished.

What can you say about this birthday boy that’s not been said already? He’s been referred to as a sociological phenomenon, a wonderful human being, an enigma, a philanthropist and above a terrific actor. He’s the master of reinvention, the king of role-playing. When he steps into the turbulent darkness of the theatre we become his characters Vijay, Anthony, and Amit who have embodied heroism. He showed us grey is cool. He showed us macho is cool too.

Amitabh Bachchan you gave us hope, you moved us to tears, you made us laugh till our bellies ached. We love you for your stoicism, we love you for vigilantism and we love you for your non-judgemental stance as an actor. Non-judgmental because in screen you walked on the not-so-mild side, you received your comeuppance and that was okay too for you.

On screen you had progeria, you had a conflicted relationship with your father, you could be an unforgiving father yourself. You showed us your soul and you told us it was okay to be weak. In your weakness, we saw your strengths. In your silence, we heard your words. And that’s why we teared up when we saw you grapple with your inner demons in Kaala Patthar (1979), Trishul (1978), Deewaar (1975) and Shakti (1982). It’s your desire to excel, your will to succeed and your inner quest that makes you on top of your game. Thank you for showing us time and again how it’s done correctly. You were able to get under your skin and even if you did bad you made us cheer for the bad guy as much as we did for your good guy. The ultimate mark of a fine actor. Empathy. You could empathise when Amitabh Bachchan said “Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai.”

Thank you for the wonderful memories. Here’s wishing you good health and cheer.
