Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh paid tribute to the legendary industrialist Ratan Tata, who passed away on October 9, 2024. While performing in Germany, Diljit received the news of Tata’s death. In a video that has circulated online from the concert, he paused his performance to honor Ratan Tata’s legacy and reflected on the important lessons he learned from the esteemed Indian figure. Diljit admitted that he never had the chance to meet Tata but emphasized that the industrialist had a significant impact on his life.

“You all know about Ratan Tata. He has passed away. This is my small tribute to him. Today, I feel it is important to take his name because his life — he has always worked hard. Whatever I have heard and read of him, I have never seen him speak anything wrong about anyone,” Diljit said in Punjabi.

“He has always worked hard in his life, did good work, was helpful. This is life, this is how one should be. If there is one thing we can learn from his life, it is that we should work hard, think positive, be helpful and live life to its fullest,” the actor-singer added.

Ratan Tata passed away on the night of October 9, Wednesday. He had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Monday due to a sudden drop in blood pressure and was in critical condition in the ICU. The announcement of his death was made late Wednesday night.

Renowned for his visionary leadership that elevated the Tata Group and his philanthropic efforts, Ratan Tata was a cherished figure in India.

Ratan Tata was not only an exceptional industrialist but also a compassionate individual admired by many. Consequently, when the news of his unexpected passing spread on social media, numerous fans and several Bollywood celebrities expressed their grief online.

Ratan Tata passes away at 86: Kamal Haasan, SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR and others pay heartfelt tribute to legendary business titan

Revolutionary industrialist Ratan Tata passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday, October 9. He was admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai in a critical condition due to age-related ailments. After his demise, celebrities including Kamal Haasan, SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR, Rana Daggubati, and several others took to their social media handles to offer condolences and pay tribute to the legendary business titan.

Kamal Haasan took to his X handle and wrote, “Ratan Tata Ji was a personal hero of mine, someone I’ve tried to emulate throughout my life. A national treasure whose contributions in nation-building shall forever be etched in the story of modern India.”

The Indian 2 further recalled meeting Ratan Tata at the Taj Hotel during the aftermath of the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Kamal Haasan shared how he “stood tall” to rebuild the nation amid the crisis.

Mithun Chakraborty honored with Dada Saheb Phalke Award; Dharmendra extends heartfelt congratulations: ‘Will come to give you a big hug’

Mithun Chakraborty received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the most prestigious recognition in Indian cinema, during a ceremony held at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan. The 70th National Awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu. At 74, Mithun is celebrated for his stellar performances in films like Agneepath, Mujhe Insaaf Chahiye, and several others. Following this achievement, his longtime friend and fellow actor Dharmendra shared a heartfelt congratulatory message on social media, expressing his joy over the accomplishment.

Dharmendra shared a picture with Mithun Chakraborty and congratulated him on receiving the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He expressed his admiration and asked Mithun to convey his love to the family.

Dharmendra mentioned that although he is currently out of India, he would make sure to return and personally give Mithun a big hug.

Chakraborty shared his experiences of being trolled and disrespected in the industry due to his dark skin. He recalled being told that there was no room for dark-skinned individuals in the film industry, stating that he faced as much humiliation as possible.

Mithun Da, as he is affectionately known, mentioned that he used to complain to God about his appearance. He eventually reached a point where he chose to look beyond his skin color and concentrate on his dancing abilities.

Celebrated as India’s original ‘Disco Dancer,’ the veteran actor remarked that he decided to dance, wanting people to focus on his feet rather than his face or skin color. He noted that by dancing with his feet in his films, audiences began to overlook his complexion.

Past recipients of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award include renowned figures such as Amitabh Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman, Rekha, Asha Parekh, and Rajinikanth. Earlier this year, Mithun Chakraborty was also honored with the Padma Bhushan, which is India’s third-highest civilian award.
