Two Vasai traffic cops, a CISF jawan, an SRPF personnel, and two government employees have been arrested for allegedly molesting and attempting to abduct an 18-year-old nursing student in Sindhudurg district. The men were drunk and off-duty when passersby intervened. They have been suspended from duty and are currently in police custody.

In Kaimur district, a 23-year-old man died after being detained by police who suspected him of consuming alcohol while he was running to a hospital after a snake bite. His family alleges that the police demanded a bribe for his release, causing significant delays. Authorities have ordered an inquiry into the matter.
