Jayam Ravi files police complaint against ex-wife Aarti, after being removed from the house? Here’s what we know

The scrutiny surrounding Jayam Ravi and his ex-wife Aarti Ravi’s divorce has been spread across every gossip column and news headline at the moment. While the actor’s decision seemed to shock everyone initially, he later revealed his side of the story, citing how it was a well-thought-out decision. Amidst a report of the PS-I actor’s alleged linkup with a singer doing rounds, a new conjecture claims that Jayam has been evicted from his home by Aarti.

As per a report by M9 News, Jayam Ravi has apparently been removed from his house by his ex-wife, Aarti Ravi, following which he ended up lodging a complaint against her at the Adhyar police station in Chennai.

The actor reportedly sought the assistance of the police authorities to retrieve his belongings from the residence, which is located on ECR Road in Chennai. The case is still under investigation from the police team.

Ever since Jayam Ravi announced his divorce on social media, several speculations have been abuzz on the matter, questioning what actually went wrong between the two. Moreover, he was even linked up with a singer named Kenishaa Francis, citing that the duo’s secret relationship was the reason behind his broken marriage.

However, in an interview with DT Next, the actor gave a strong response to all the ongoing chatter regarding his personal life. He mentioned, “When people try to bring down the image that I have earned over the years through hard work and choice of scripts, I can only manage to laugh. It’s not easy to malign my name. If you could think that the entire thing unfolded with the announcement episode, it did not.”

Furthermore, he clarified that the rumors about him and Kenishaa were completely baseless and untrue. He mentioned that the Goan singer has in fact helped many people to combat depression and as a result, he collaborated with her to open up a spiritual healing center.

In yet another interview with the Hindustan Times, Jayam Ravi staunchly remarked that he is ready to fight for the custody of his sons, Aarav and Ayaan, from his ex-wife Aarti during their divorce proceedings at the court.

He expressed, “I want custody of my children—Aarav and Ayaan. I am ready to fight this divorce out in court for 10 years, 20 years, or however long it takes. My future is my children; they are my happiness.”

Income Tax officials file petition to raid jailed actor Darshan Thoogudeepa’s residence in connection to Renuka Swamy case

More trouble awaits Darshan Thoogudeepa as Income Tax officials on September 24 filed a petition in Sessions Court to seek permission to raid his residence. It is pertinent to mention that Darshan is currently in judicial custody for his connection to the alleged brutal murder of Renuka Swamy.

As per the India Today report, sources have confirmed that the income tax officers issued notice to the Kannada actor on Tuesday to inspect documents at his house. Apart from that, they visited the Bellary Jail (where the actor is currently lodged) to record his statement regarding the funds allegedly involved in the crime.

For the unversed, Darshan is accused of paying Rs 30 lakh to people to cover up the murder of Renuka Swamy and surrender on his behalf. Further, the India Today report suggested that an earlier investigation had revealed that Thoogudeepa borrowed Rs 40 lakh from one of his friends to pay off other accused to destroy evidence linked with the murder. Additionally, as per reports, the Kannada star confessed to the same in a statement to the police.

Meanwhile, in the latest turn of events, Darshan filed for a bail petition after spending 100 days in prison. However, the court adjourned his bail plea till September 27. On the other side, three accused in the Renuka Swamy case, Keshav Murthy, Nikhil Naik, and Karthik, were granted conditional bail. Moreover, the court also dropped murder charges against them.

The brutal murder of Renuka Swamy first came into the limelight when Darshan Thoogudeepa and his rumored girlfriend Pavithra Gowda were arrested on June 11. As per several media reports, the victim made derogatory comments against Gowda, and this instigated Darshan to take revenge against Renuka Swamy. Apart from the duo, 15 others were also arrested in connection to the case.

Ex Army, CBI Chiefs Clash Over Alleged Torture Of Woman At Police Station

Retired Army Chief General VK Singh and former CBI Director M Nageswara Rao have clashed over the alleged torture and sexual assault of an Army officer’s fiancee at a police station in Odisha. The incident took place in Bhubaneswar on the night of September 15 and has sparked widespread outrage.

General VK Singh, in a social media post, described the treatment of the woman, the fiancee of an Army officer, as “shameful and horrendous.” General Singh condemned the handling of the situation by the Odisha Police and demanded immediate action against the officers involved.

“Everyone must listen to the daughter of a retired Army officer. What happened to her in Bharatpur police station in Odisha is shameful. The Odisha Chief Minister should take swift action against the police personnel and those shielding the criminals in uniform,” General Singh stated in his post.

According to the victim’s account, she was allegedly thrashed and sexually assaulted inside Bharatpur police station after she and her fiance attempted to file a complaint regarding a road rage incident. The Army officer was allegedly illegally detained by the police.

In a counter-response, former CBI Director M Nageswara Rao, an Odisha-cadre IPS officer, painted a different picture. Mr Rao disputed General Singh’s allegations and accused the Army officer and his fiancee of being drunk and behaving inappropriately.

“An Army officer and his fiancee consumed alcohol and drove through the city late at night. They were involved in a brawl with engineering students and later created a scene at Bharatpur police station. When asked to undergo a medical examination and blood test, they refused, which is a standard part of the investigation,” Mr Rao claimed.

He further defended the police, stating that the Odisha Police, which manages more than 600 police stations, had no reason to misbehave with visitors, including Army personnel. Mr Rao urged General Singh to reconsider his stance, adding that it is improper to castigate the police for the actions of an individual Army officer.

“It is not appropriate for a former Chief of Army Staff and Central Minister to jump to conclusions and criticize the police for the alleged drunken misconduct of the Army officer and his fiancee. However, I would not question the Indian Army’s discipline based on one individual’s actions. I urge the Army to take appropriate action against this officer for conduct unbecoming of a soldier,” Mr Rao concluded.

In the midst of these allegations, videos showing the couple in a physical altercation with a group of people surfaced on social media.
While the Army veterans have rallied around the officer and his fiancee, retired police officers, including Mr Rao, have defended the actions of the Odisha Police and have raised questions about the behaviour of the couple.

Several retired Army officers have taken to social media to criticise the Odisha Police, urging the Defence Ministry to intervene.

The Odisha government has responded by suspending five police personnel involved in the incident and ordering a judicial inquiry. The state’s crime branch is investigating the allegations, and the government has provided security to the Army officer and his fiancee in light of the case.

Following a meeting with Odisha’s Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the woman expressed relief and hope for justice, stating that she feared for her safety given the nature of the allegations. She also confirmed that both she and her fiance had accepted the government’s offer of personal security officers (PSOs) for their protection.
