Karan Johar has message for ‘privilege’ amid Coldplay India ticket fever: ‘You can’t get everything…’

The Coldplay fever recently took over India as ticket sales for their tour in 2025 opened and went sold out within no time. The social media has been filled with reactions from people who secured the tickets and also from those who failed to get one. Amid this, Karan Johar shared a message for ‘privilege’ in which he expressed that you can’t get everything you want.

Today, September 23, 2024, Karan Johar took to his Instagram Stories and shared an important note referring to the recent Coldplay ticket frenzy. He said, “Dear privilege, I love that Coldplay and the mini Kelly always keep you grounded… you can’t get everything you want my darling … Lots of love… Frugal.”

Coldplay is set to perform in India in 2025 as part of their Music Of The Spheres tour. The popular band will be taking over the stage in DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar is currently gearing up for the release of his next production Jigra. He is jointly producing the action thriller with actress Alia Bhatt. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film focuses on the bond between siblings, played by Alia and Vedang Raina. The teaser trailer of the movie has already been released. Jigra arrives in theaters on October 11, 2024, during the festive occasion of Dussehra.

In an exclusive update, Pinkvilla revealed that the filmmaker is all set to make his OTT debut with a big budget web-series for the platform Netflix.

Revealing some details about the project, a source close to the development stated, “The web-series now begins its casting stage and the idea is to bring together an ensemble of renowned actors. Being a Karan Johar show, the web series is considered to be Netflix’s most ambitious upcoming project. It will be shot throughout 2025 and is set to stream in 2026.”

Karan is also engrossed in the preparation for his next directorial after the rom-com Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The untitled movie will reportedly be a massive action entertainer.

Renuka Swamy case: Darshan Thoogudeepa submits bail application after spending 100 days in judicial custody

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his alleged partner Pavithra Gowda have been in judicial custody since June in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy. In the latest developments, Darshan’s lawyer has filed a bail application before the 57th Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge court in Bengaluru, which will most likely hear the case on Monday (September 23).

After spending 100 days in custody, the Sandalwood actor, lodged in Ballari Central Jail, consulted with his legal team and filed for bail. It is pertinent to mention that the Kamakshipalya police have filed a comprehensive 3,991-page charge sheet against 17 individuals, including Darshan Thoogudeepa.

After submitting the charge sheet, Darshan’s legal team decided to move with the bail application. However, the bail applications of other accused including actress Pavithra were rejected. It is worth mentioning that the other accused will once again seek bail ahead of the end of judicial custody which is September 30.

Meanwhile, Darshan’s family will lodge a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) against the Ballari prison officials. According to the jailed actor’s family, he has not been getting proper facilities inside the jail. However, dismissing the accusations, as per New Indian Express, a senior jail official said that Darshan is treated as per the prison rules. Moreover, he has been given a TV and a surgical chair in his cell.

For the unversed, Darshan is in judicial custody for his alleged involvement in the brutal murder of his fan Renuka Swamy. As per several reports, the victim made derogatory remarks against Pavithra which did not go well with the Kannada actor. Following this, Darshan killed Renuka Swamy using his henchmen.

Google To Nvidia: PM Modi’s Roundtable Meet With 15 Tech CEOs At MIT

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today convened a high-profile roundtable with top American technology CEOs, focusing on innovation, collaboration, and India’s growing tech space. The meeting, held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, was part of PM Modi’s three-day visit to the United States, with its second leg in New York.

Hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering, the roundtable saw participation from leaders of companies specialising in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology.

The roundtable was attended by prominent CEOs like Google’s Sundar Pichai Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi said, “Had a fruitful roundtable with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation, and more. Also highlighted the strides made by India in this field. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India.”

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement that the roundtable focused on cutting-edge sectors, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, biotechnology, and semiconductor technologies.

“The CEOs participated in a deep dive with Prime Minister on the evolving technology landscape at a global level and how these cutting-edge technologies are contributing to the well-being of people around the world including in India. They touched upon how technology is being leveraged for innovations, which have the potential to revolutionize the global economy and human development,” the MEA said in a statement.

On Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Prime Minister stressed that India’s policy is to promote ‘AI for All’, underpinned by its ethical and responsible use.

PM Modi also reassured the CEOs of India’s strong commitment to protecting intellectual property and fostering a conducive environment for technology-led innovation. He encouraged the business leaders to capitalise on India’s growth trajectory, pointing to the nation’s potential to become the third-largest economy globally.

The meeting also explored opportunities to invest in India’s burgeoning startup ecosystem, where innovations in technology are accelerating. Startups were seen as a crucial bridge for American companies to enter the Indian market and contribute to creating new technologies and solutions.

MIT Professor Anantha Chandrakasan, who chaired the session, thanked PM Modi and the participating CEOs for their contributions. He affirmed MIT’s ongoing commitment to using technology for global good and advancing collaboration between the United States and India in critical technology sectors.
