Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso To Return As Hope and Bo in Upcoming Season of Days of Our Lives; DEETS Inside

Hope Brady and Bo Brady’s fans are in for a treat! Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell are set to reignite the onscreen romance of their iconic Days of Our Lives characters. The everlasting romance of Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell’s Days of Our Lives characters is about to rekindle on screen.

According to TV Insider, the two have reportedly already begun filming a plot that will premiere in May 2025. The last time the two appeared on screen together was in April 2023.

On Thursday, September 12, Alfonso, 61, posted on Instagram Stories to confirm that the two are back on the set of the popular daytime soap opera. He wrote, “Back in the Brady Pub, hope you can join.”

The two last appeared after Bo was shot by his son Shawn (Brandon Beemer), which left the elder Brady in coma. In order to record the on-air funeral for onscreen father Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), Alfonso made a comeback earlier this year in April.’

The announcement follows SoapHub’s February statement from Michael Sluchan, EVP of Current Scripted Programming and Limited Series for NBC and Peacock, indicating that the 60th anniversary of the show would feature “exciting stories.”

The romance between Bo and Hope began in 1983, when Alfonso and Reckell joined the cast of DAYS. When Hope was a teenager, she first had an unreciprocated crush on Roman, Bo’s older brother. But soon, it was getting harder for Bo and Hope to deny their developing feelings for one another.

Bo and Hope got married for the first time in 1985 in a grandiose ceremony that was captured on camera while they were in England, following their victory over the Dragon, an infamous criminal.

After leaving her role in July 2020, Alfonso reappeared in Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem in 2022 as Hope. She recorded a quick appearance on Days in April for an homage to the late Bill Hayes that will air in November.

Reckell departed Days permanently in 2012; however, he has made occasional appearances in Beyond Salem since then.

The Buckingham Murders Review: Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer classifies as a sincere slow burn mystery-drama

Plot:

Jasmeet Bhamra (Kareena Kapoor Khan) is a British-Indian Detective Inspector who has recently lost her child. While she is still grieving, she is asked to assist Detective Inspector Hardy on the case of a murdered 10-year-old child in Buckinghamshire named Ishmeet, belonging from the Sikh community. While she is initially not keen on being part of the investigation, she ends up accompanying DI Hardy on the case. The prime suspect is of Islamic origin and the investigation becomes messier thanks to the strained relationship of the two immigrant communities.

Who is actually the culprit and what is the reason for the murder of the 10 year old? Watch The Buckingham Murders to find that out.

What works for The Buckingham Murders:

The Buckingham Murders is a sincere mystery-drama that goes beyond conventional investigations that we are used to seeing in films of this genre. The Buckingham Murders is deep and layered. It masterfully addresses the disharmony between different immigrant communities in the UK and the implications that it has on the case at hand. There are other important topics that the movie touches upon like drug abuse and the taboo of Lgbtqia+ relationships in conservative immigrant households. The story has a good slow burn feel to it. Having said that, the movie could do with better pacing for enhanced impact. There are two situational songs that really suit the mood of the film.

What doesn’t work for The Buckingham Murders:

The Buckingham Murders is not a taut mystery-thriller and so you never really feel the tension or thrill that you’d wish to feel in a movie of this genre. The screenplay is slow and it’s only in the last 30 odd minutes that things get interesting from a drama perspective. Despite its short run-time, the film had scope to be edited by atleast 15 minutes. Rest, The Buckingham Murders classifies as a sincere attempt at making a slow burn mystery-drama.

Performances in The Buckingham Murders:

Kareena Kapoor Khan gives a good, restrained performance as DI Jassmeet Bhamra. It’s a strong character and she justifies it.
Ash Tandon as DI Hardy is extremely dependable.
Prabhleen Sandhu surprises, especially in the final portions.
Other supporting actors in the movie do a credible job.

Final Verdict of The Buckingham Murders:

The Buckingham Murders is a crafty mystery drama, made with a lot of heart. The movie does feel a tad too slow at times but it manages to give a satisfying feeling at the end of it all.

Hansal Mehta‘s The Buckingham Murders plays in theatres now. Will you be watching The Buckingham Murders? Do let us know.

Arvind Kejriwal Gets Bail After 6 Months, Can’t Go to Office Or Sign Files

Arvind Kejriwal Gets Bail After 6 Months, Can’t Go to Office Or Sign Files

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by the Supreme Court – which found his “prolonged incarceration amounts to unjust deprivation of liberty” – following his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation in June, in connection with the alleged liquor excise policy case.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader can now leave jail – after nearly six months without a trial – since he had earlier also secured bail in the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. He cannot, however go to his office or the Delhi Secretariat, or sign files without Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena’s consent.

In a brief session Friday morning Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Surya Kant delivered separate verdicts on Mr Kejriwal’s two pleas but agreed on the core issue – the Chief Minister must be released.

Sources at Delhi’s Tihar Jail told NDTV he will be released later today.

Mr Kejriwal had also challenged the CBI’s arrest – which came days after the trial court in Delhi granted him bail in the ED case, and has been criticised by his lawyers as an “insurance arrest”.

On this the judges differed, with Justice Kant stating “no impediment in arresting person already in custody (Mr Kejriwal had been in ED custody for weeks before the CBI’s arrest)”. Justice Bhuyan disagreed, pointing out the agency became active “only after trial court granted regular bail in ED case”.

On the matter of bail for Mr Kejriwal, however, the judges were united, noting that “completion of trial (is) unlikely to occur in (the) immediate future”. The court then ruled as it had in three other high-profile bail hearings connected to the liquor policy case – ex-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, AAP MP Sanjay Singh, and Telangana politician K Kavitha. All three were released on similar grounds.

And, as it had for Mr Sisodia, the court said it was a “travesty of justice” to keep Mr Kejriwal in custody without notification of a trial, particularly since he had already been granted bail in the case filed by the ED, in which he faced charges under the stringent Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

“I fail to understand the great urgency on the part of the CBI to arrest the appellant when he was on cusp of release in the ED case. Mr Raju (Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for the probe agency) vehemently argued the appellant has to first approach the trial court… this can’t be accepted.”

In strong comments Justice Bhuyan also underlined the ‘bail is the rule, jail the exception’ legal principle that featured in Mr Sisodia and Ms Kavitha’s release. “Further detention by CBI under same predicate offense is untenable. There is presumption of innocence. Bail is the rule and jail an exception,” he said.

Delhi Liquor Policy Case Explained

The Delhi liquor excise policy case involves allegations that Mr Kejriwal and the AAP received kickbacks of Rs 100 crore, including significant payments from a ‘South group’ led by Ms Kavitha, for allotment of wholesale licences.

The ED and CBI believe this money was then used by the AAP to fund election campaigns, including that for the 2022 Goa Assembly election.  They also believe Mr Kejriwal played a key role in drafting and clearing the controversial November 2021 policy, which was withdrawn eight months later.

Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP, and Ms Kavitha and her party, the BRS of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, have denied all charges, and counter-accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, to whom federal agencies like the ED and CBI report, of mounting a campaign against its critics and opposition leaders, particularly before elections.
