At a West Bengal Commission for Women (WBCW) hearing on the sexual harassment case involving Arindam Sil, at least one of the two witnesses supported the claim that the actor appeared uncomfortable after being kissed by the director on set. Leena Gangopadhyay, the WBCW chairperson, confirmed that the hearing with the two witnesses occurred on Monday. However, she further noted that the details of the proceeding are confidential.

According to several reports, one of the witnesses testified that his assistant had witnessed the incident and reported it to him during the filming of Ekti Khunir Sandhane Mitin. The witnessed also confirmed that the actor seemed visibly distressed. The other witness reportedly saw the director kissing the actor. However, he did not realize the gravity of the situation.

Repeated calls and messages to Nispal Singh Rane, the producer of Ekti Khunir Sandhane Mitin, did not elicit any response. While further reports are awaited, the future of Arindam Sil’s upcoming movies remain in jeopardy. His upcoming release Saheb Bibi Joker, which is scheduled to be released on September 13, is going through a similar turmoil. However, the makers have noted that the project’s release will remain unharmed due to the current investigations surrounding Sil. Producer Rupa Datta said, “The production house on the sets of which this incident happened in April should have taken steps.”

She further added, “No untoward incident happened in our production house because of him. I am there to protest against all acts of proven guilt. But is it possible to change the credit line days before the release? We will proceed with the release on Sept 13.However, our digital team has not engaged in any collaboration on social media with him for this launch.” However, Datta has postponed the release of Sil’s Iskaboner Bibi, which was scheduled for the end of October.

At the trailer launch of Devara: Part 1, Janhvi Kapoor, dressed in a stunning golden saree, described her Telugu film debut as a ‘ghar wapsi.’ The actress, who stars alongside Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan, expressed her excitement about returning to the Telugu film industry. 

“Yeh mere debut film hai aur honestly aisa lag raha hai mere ghar wapsi bhi hai kyunki mere first Telugu film hai,” she said. Kapoor expressed her gratitude for the enthusiastic reception and emphasized how special the project is to her.

Devara: Part 1 is set to release on September 27, 2024. The film has already made headlines by becoming the fastest Indian film to sell 15,000 tickets in the USA following the pre-sale launch. The cast also includes Prakash Raj and Shruthi Marathe, with a reported runtime of approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes.

At the recent trailer launch for Devara: Part 1 in Mumbai, Jr NTR candidly shared his experience of working in the film. The actor, who is gearing up for his first solo film release in six years, admitted that the anticipation is causing him significant anxiety. “I am very nervous because this is my next film after RRR. RRR was with my co-actor Ram Charan, but this is my solo release after six years, so there is a lot of nervousness building up. But I’m very happy to launch the trailer of Devara in Mumbai,” Jr NTR confessed.

The actor recalled the overwhelming reception during the promotions for RRR, saying, “The experience we had when we were promoting RRR here was surreal. The acceptance from the North shocked us all, and I hope it repeats with Devara.” 

Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1 will be released in two parts and also stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is eagerly awaited by fans, with the trailer having already generated significant buzz.
