The Supreme Court has instructed the CBI to submit an updated report on its investigation into the rape and murder of a postgraduate medical student in Kolkata by September 17. The court also ordered the removal of all victim photos from social media and directed protesting doctors to resume duties, warning of potential disciplinary actions for non-compliance.

The body of Nazia (18), who used to live in a room on the upper portion of the MLA’s house in Malikana locality in the city area, was found hanging from a fan there.

Sources said the post-mortem report in the RG Kar rape-murder case is clear on sexual assault, but the forensic report is inconclusive on the findings
