Rajkummar Rao celebrated his 40th birthday on August 31, 2024. The actor who starred in the recent massive hit Stree 2 has now shared a post thanking his fans for the birthday wishes. He also teased his new role from ‘Bickkyy to Vicky.’ His co-star Shraddha Kapoor as well as other Bollywood celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and more were all hearts.

Today, September 3, 2024, Rajkummar Rao took to Instagram and shared an inside picture from his 40th birthday celebration. In the photograph, he is seen sitting in front of a table which had three delicious-looking cakes placed on it. Rajkummar had his eyes closed and hands folded in a wish.

In the caption, he conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to his admirers in Stree style. The actor said, “Thank you so much guys for all your lovely birthday wishes. You guys have made my birthday very special. Sabhi Stree aur Purushon ko dil se dhanyawaad.”

Rajkummar also teased his upcoming movie Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video after playing the role of Vicky aka Bicky in Stree 2. He wrote, “From #Bickkyy to now #Vicky. Ab taiyar ho jaiye #VickyVidyaKaWohWalaVideo Dekhne ke liye. Jald hi la rahe hain aapke liye. Zabardast Comedy se bharpoor entertainment (Now get ready to watch #VickyVidyaKaWohWalaVideo. Bringing it for you soon. Entertainment full of great comedy).”

Various celebrities from the film industry showered their love on Rajkummar’s gratitude post. Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Kriti Sanon, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, Sharvari, Tamannaah Bhatia, and more liked the post. Ayushmann Khurrana left a heart emoji in the comments section. 

Coming to Stree 2, Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana reprised their roles from the first part Stree (2018). The horror comedy is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande. It is currently running in cinemas.

In Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Rajkummar will share the screen with actress Triptii Dimri. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, it is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 11, 2024.

Smile 2 Full Trailer: Does Naomi Scott’s Pop Star Fight Back Or Surrender To Terrifying Fate? Watch

Naomi Scott steps into the horrifying world of Smile to fight the evils of the unknown. With Paramount Pictures dropping the final trailer of Smile 2, the fans will get to witness the reccurence of the smile curse, that the Scott’s pop star will face.

As for the original film, the movie was declared a hit at the box office by earning nearly $217 million. For the first part, the lead characters were played by Sosie Bacon and Kyle Gallner, who played the roles of Rose Cotter and Joel, respectively. 

Streaming in the same format as the previous movie, the upcoming horror thriller will showcase Scott facing the curse and seeing creepy smiles everywhere she goes. 

As for the plot of the film, the synopsis reads, “About to embark on a new world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley begins to experience increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events.” It further reads, Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and pressures of fame, she must face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.”

As the trailer escalates, Scott’s character approaches the master, who could stop the paranormal activities. Following the guidance, the pop star decides to end her life.

However, not everything goes as per the plan. Ultimately, by the end of the trailer, the actress faces the paranormal personality and poses Scott to the frightening smile.

The cast for the new movie includes Luke Gage, Dylan Gellula, and Rosemary DeWitt. Sosie Bacon and Kyle Gallner will reprise the roles of Rose Cotter and Joel in the upcoming sequel.

Without giving any hints at the lighter moments, the film lets out a promise to traumatize and add jump scares at every interval of the movie. Moreover, Gage’s character will stay for a long time over the run time of the film, as shown in the trailer. 

While making an appearance on the Jess Cagle show, Gage shared the details of the movie. He said, “The evil entity continues to pass its horrific curse from person to person in the next installment in the Smile franchise.”

The actor further stated, “That smile itself is just so creepy, and then you throw the most gory scenes on top of it; I just, yeah, I have a weak stomach too. I’m a wimp.”

Smile 2 is set to release in theaters on October 18, 2024.

Naseeruddin Shah shared that he feared the 1999 Kandahar Hijack of Flight IC 814 would lead to another wave of Islamophobia. At a press conference where the veteran actor was joined by the cast and crew of the recently released IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, he reflected on the incident’s impact.

Recalling his reaction to the incident that took place in 1999, he shared, “I was about 50 when this happened, the end of the century. I remember being extremely disturbed because I feared it would provoke another wave of Islamophobia. Luckily at that time, it did not.”

He further added, “I remember feeling terribly concerned about the situation and what it would lead to. There was a feeling of ambivalence when the crisis was resolved. I was left with a feeling of unease when the deal was struck. I couldn’t pinpoint why I felt like that but I the pilot and the passengers had been through a horrifying time and this was no closure. That’s how I remember feeling.”
