The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) held a protest march in Mumbai following the collapse of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue in Sindhudurg district. Notable leaders such as Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray attended. The demonstration, called ‘jode maro,’ was directed at the Mahayuti government, resulting in heightened police security in the city.

Sandalwood actor Darshan, accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, has requested a surgical commode chair in Ballari Central Jail due to back pain. Jail authorities are considering the request. Darshan’s manager was transferred to Kalaburagi Prison. Bail pleas for Pavithra Gowda and Anu Kumar were rejected by a Bengaluru court.

“There can be extremely heavy rain episodes in the foothills of the Himalayas, especially Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Punjab, as well as Rajasthan, leading to landslides/floods. So we should be cautious,” said Director General of Meteorology M Mohapatra
