Selena Gomez Calls This Her ‘Joyful’ Era with Benny Blanco and Talks About Only Murders in the Building Premiere

The upcoming season of Only Murders in the Building has fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter of the mystery drama. In the premiere of its fourth season, set to debut on Hulu on August 27, Selena Gomez, who stars as Mabel, shared her feelings about this exciting period in her career with Entertainment Tonight.

Gomez expressed that she feels “hopeful and joyful” about her current projects, which include the reboot of Wizards of Waverly Place, various movie roles, and her ongoing romance with musician Benny Blanco. She conveyed gratitude for the opportunities and experiences she’s enjoying right now.

On the red carpet, Gomez was joined by her co-stars, Martin Short and Steve Martin. Short praised Gomez, saying, “This is the greatest human being you can ever work with in your entire life.” Martin echoed this sentiment, noting that they are “very, very lucky” to have worked with her.

During the interview, the question of who was the most “demure” on set—referencing the social media trend of being “very demure, very mindful”—was posed. Gomez humorously revealed that she hadn’t introduced her co-stars to the trend, naming Michael Cyril Creighton, who plays Howard Morris, as the most demure.

Gomez dazzled on the red carpet in a black, bejeweled dress, while Short and Martin opted for classic suits. Recently, Gomez has been in the spotlight for her rumored relationship status with musician Benny Blanco. Speculation about their engagement arose after Gomez followed a wedding planner on TikTok and posted a mirror selfie with a heart-eye emoji covering her ring finger. The couple, who began dating in 2023, have reportedly discussed marriage, according to sources close to US Weekly.

Not Divyenndu but THIS Jamtara star was first offered to play Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur; actor reveals why it didn’t materialize

Divyenndu rose to massive fame after playing the iconic character of Munna Bhaiya in Prime Video’s series Mirzapur. However, actor Amit Sial has revealed that he was initially offered to play the same character. He told Filmygyan, “Mirzapur mein jo munna ka character hai wo mujhe offer hua tha but obviously mai Pankaj ka beta to lag nahi sakta hun (Munna’s character in Mirzapur was offered to me but obviously i wouldn’t have been convincing in the role of Pankaj Tripathi’s son) but I am very happy that I did what I did. I think that’s a classic character.”

Further talking about Divyenndu’s performance in it, Amit added, “Bohot hi pyaara dost hai aur bohot hi (accha) potray kiya (He is a very sweet friend and portrayed the character very well).” Not Munna Bhaiya but Sial went on to play the character of Senior Superintendent of Police Ram Sharan Maurya who was a Special Officer assigned to Mirzapur.

Divyenndu made a way out of the show after two seasons and even his character was ended in the show. The actor recently spoke to Zoom where he spoke about his heartbreaking exit. The 41-year-old shared, “After a point of time you cannot romanticize the fact that you are playing a dark character. It tends to take a toll on you. There is only one way to do it…you have to go deep. And you have to come out of it also.”

When asked about the continued love of Mirzapur fans for his character and their constant request of wanting to see him back, Divyenndu acknowledged all of it. The Madgaon Express actor added, “It’s love only…kabhi kabhi zyada bhi ho jata hai love, but you cannot really question it. It’s a good thing it’s a fortunate thing that people love you. But yeah, I mean even if you want to forget people won’t let you forget. So, it’s a part and parcel of your life.”

Prime Video’s Mirzapur is three seasons down now. While the first two seasons made a massive trend, the third one didn’t gain much traction. However, makers plan to make more seasons continue to be the same.

Kolkata Suspect Tells Court He Wants Lie-Detector Test. Lawyer Explains Why

The key suspect in the rape and murder case of a junior doctor in a Kolkata hospital has told a special court that he wanted to go through a lie-detector test so that “the truth comes out”, the suspect’s lawyer told NDTV.

A special court in Kolkata yesterday allowed a polygraph (lie-detector) test to be conducted on the key suspect Sanjay Roy. The court had already given permission to conduct lie-detector tests on Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, and four other doctors who were on duty the night the junior doctor’s body was found in the seminar hall of the hospital.

According to Sanjay Roy’s lawyer, when the court asked him whether he was ready for the polygraph test, he replied, “Yes.”

And when the judge asked why he was ready, Sanjay Roy said, according to this lawyer, that he was “innocent” and was “framed”.

“‘I also want the truth to come out through the polygraph test’,” the lawyer said, quoting Sanjay Roy.

The lie-detector tests on Sanjay Roy and six others began today, officials said. The polygraph test on Sanjay Roy was conducted in jail, while the rest took the test at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office in Kolkata, news agency PTI reported.

Sandip Ghosh came to the CBI’s office in Kolkata’s Salt Lake this morning for the ninth consecutive day.

Those undergoing the lie-detection test include two first-year postgraduate trainees, whose fingerprints were found inside the seminar hall. A team of polygraph specialists from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi were flown to Kolkata to conduct the tests.

The CBI told the Supreme Court on Thursday that there was an attempt to cover up the rape and murder of the junior doctor by the police. The CBI said the crime scene was altered by the time the CBI took over the probe.

The junior doctor’s body with severe injury marks was found inside the seminar hall of the hospital’s chest department on the morning of August 9. Sanjay Roy was arrested the following day.

Investigators have released a CCTV screen grab of Sanjay Roy entering the hospital an hour after midnight, and before the woman’s body was found in the morning. The CCTV footage also shows a Bluetooth earphone coiled around the suspect’s neck. The police had said they found Bluetooth earphones from the crime scene during initial investigation.

The CCTV footage shows Sanjay Roy entering the hospital at 1.03 am, sources said. During interrogation, the police had shown him the CCTV evidence, after which Sanjay Roy admitted to the crime, sources have said.
