Tovino Thomas’ much-awaited fantasy film Ajayante Randam Moshanam, aka ARM, is set to arrive on Onam this year. Now, the makers of the film are also eager to unveil its trailer, sparking much anticipation.

In a new X (formerly Twitter) update posted by the Minnal Murali actor himself, the fantasy flick’s official trailer is scheduled to be launched on August 25, 2024. The trailer launch event is happening in Thiruvananthapuram at 6 pm.

The much-awaited action fantasy movie Ajayante Randam Moshanam features a story that is set in Northern Kerala in various timelines like 1900, 1950, and 1990.

As Tovino plays three different characters, namely Maniyan, Kunjikelu, and Ajayan, all three strive to protect an important treasure of the land for all three generations. The movie also marks actress Krithi Shetty’s debut in Malayalam cinema as well.

Aside from Tovino and Krithi, the film directed by Jithin Lal also has an ensemble cast of actors like Aishwarya Rajesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Basil Joseph, Rohini, Harish Uthaman, Nisthar Sait, Jagadish, Pramod Shetty, Aju Varghese, Maala Parvathy, and more in key roles.

Recently, Krithi Shetty was roped in for an interview with Pinkvilla, where the actress spilled the details of working in ARM and her experience with Malayalam cinema. In the exclusive chat, the actress specified how the film manages to combine mythology and vintage qualities.

The actress also described her experience playing a proper Malayali village girl as raw and authentic. She also said that from a performance perspective, acting in the film was very different for her, as she asked to use minimal and subtle expressions as opposed to what she has done before.

Krithi also went on to praise her co-star Tovino Thomas and reveal how he is a very humble and extremely supportive person. The actress also lauded him for his dedication and how he managed to put her at ease while she was trying to do her lines in Malayalam.

On Tovino Thomas’ work front, besides his movie ARM, the actor is also expected to reprise his role in the Lucifer franchise’s second installment, L2: Empuraan. The actor is also playing the lead role with Trisha Krishnan in the film Identity.

A Rare Akhilesh Yadav-Mayawati Bonhomie Over Defamation Case Demand

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday demanded a defamation case be filed against Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Rajesh Chaudhary for making ‘derisive and derogatory’ remarks against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati.

The Samajwadi Party leader shared a video from a news channel in which the BJP MLA could be heard saying, “While there is no doubt that Mayawati has been the Chief Minister of UP for four times, it was the BJP which made her the Chief Minister for the first time. We made that mistake.”

Mr Chaudhary also called Mayawati “the most corrupt Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh”.

Taking strong objection to the BJP MLA’s remarks against the BSP supremo, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Political differences have their place, but no one has the right to tarnish her dignity as a woman.”

Terming Mr Chaudhary’s comments baseless and highly objectionable, Akhilesh Yadav demanded to initiate legal action against the BJP legislator from Mant Assembly constituency.

“The BJP is saying that they made a mistake by making her the Chief Minister… This is also an insult to the public opinion in a democratic country. To baselessly accuse her of being the most corrupt Chief Minister is extremely objectionable,” the SP chief said.

“A defamation case should be filed against the BJP MLA for his statement made publicly. By giving shelter to such MLAs, the BJP is hurting the dignity of women. If the BJP does not take immediate disciplinary action against such leaders, it should be understood that this was not the personal opinion of any MLA, but that of the entire BJP,” Akhilesh Yadav claimed.

Meanwhile, the ‘unexpected’ support from the SP chief invited words of praise and admiration from Mayawati, giving rise to speculation of a thaw in the ‘Bua-Bhatija’ ties.

In a post on X thanking Akhilesh Yadav for voicing his support, Mayawati said, “The SP chief has responded to the false allegations levelled by the BJP MLA from Mathura district, acknowledging the truth about the BSP chief’s honesty. The party is grateful for this.”
