An Indian passenger bus carrying 40 people plunged into the Marsyangdi river in Nepal’s Tanahun district while heading from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Authorities are working to determine if any people from Uttar Pradesh were involved. This follows a similar incident in July where 65 people were swept into the Trishuli River due to heavy rainfall.

A 31-year-old doctor was found raped and brutally murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, causing nationwide outrage. Sanjay Roy, the prime suspect, was identified through CCTV footage, which captured him near the chest department ward observing the victim on August 8. During questioning, Roy admitted to entering the ward earlier that evening. The CBI believes he re-entered the hospital at 4am on August 9, heading to the seminar hall where the victim was later found. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to gather more evidence.
